CAS(E) This Sketch #140; SSS Flickr Challenge #27

Hi there crafty friends ~
I haven't played along at CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge in a while, so with a few new goodies, I thought it would be fun to throw my hat in the ring! Here is this week's sketch by Chrissy Larson:

And, here is my card:

I started by using MFT's stitched panel from Blueprints 13. I love the cute images in this Mama Elephant 'Sunday Stroll' set, so I stamped and colored this little guy with Copic markers, and perched him on the musical notes from PTI's 'Songbird' stamp set. The balloon and sentiment are from ME 'Woodland Gifts'. Lastly, I blended SSS Sea Glass ink around him, added a few star sequins, and that was it!

*****

I also want to share two cards I created for this week's SSS Flickr Challenge. We are being asked to use 'Complementary Colors'... (colors that are opposite on the color wheel). Here is my first card:

I stamped the cherries from SSS 'You're So Sweet' stamp set and colored them with Copic markers. I added the sentiment, and the really cute 'Little B' sticker, a gift from my sweet blog friend, Michele (Thank you again!) onto a PTI vellum banner. Lastly, I added a touch of Wink of Stella to the cherries, a few clear sequins, and mounted the panel onto the scalloped die cut.
By the way, the white dots on the cherries are a reflection from my camera flash :)

*****

For my last card, I die cut the coffee cup and blended aqua ink to create an ombre effect. I used the SSS Curved die and die cut the heart and sentiment in Berry Sorbet. The upper portion of the card is SSS woodgrain cardstock.

Thanks so much for hanging in there for this long post...I hope your week is off to a great start ~

I don't remember seeing that musical note stamp before but it sure is perfect for the sketch, Barb. Love the cherries, (my favorite kind of pie) and the curved die separating the wood grain.
