CAS Mix Up Challenge - First Birthday Celebration

Hello again ~ There's a 1st Birthday Celebration going on at the CAS Mix Up Challenge, and I'm playing along! It's hard to believe that it's been a year since Loll and Bonnie started their first challenge blog, but it's true! Time flies when you're having fun, right?

Here are the parameters for this month's challenge:

And...here is my card:

To meet the guidelines for the challenge, I stamped the bird and sentiment and used Laura Bassen's 'Smooshing with acetate technique' with distress inks for the alphas. For my choice, I die cut the alphas and since the bird was so small, I watercolored him with a brush and fussy cut him out. A CAS design with a few clear sequins and my card was finished.

That's it for me...I hope everyone had a great weekend! Take care, and thanks so much for stopping by,

Love how you have created the smooshed inset sentiment, such a pretty card Barb. And Yes, I had a lovely weekend, it was my husband's birthday but he had to study literally ALL day and I was recovering from working night duty so lots of crafty pottering around, then out for lunch with friends yesterday to celebrate, still feeling a little tired today but have to go to work anyway lol. Hugs x

This is such a sweet card with the little bird, Barb. I haven't done smooshing Laura's way but I think I'm going to try it since you got such a soft beautiful look with it.

I love your technique for the sentiment inset. Those letters look fabulous with that smooshing. The aqua tones are just so pleasing to look at Barb, another fantastic card.

Such a pretty card. Really love the smushed color and how it contrasts with the white background. And, of course, the bird is adorable.

Sweet and so pretty, Barb ... love how you've used smooshed letters for the sentiment, they really pop against the crisp white ... that little bird is so cute with them! Hugs, Anita :)
