March CAS Watercolor Challenge & March CAS Christmas Challenge - Take 2

Hi there ~ It's been a busy month for me on the homefront, but I always enjoy playing along with Loll and Bonnie's CAS Watercolor Challenge and since this month's theme is 'Garden', I dug out some of my favorite dies and got to work:

I used one of MFT's Basic Edge dies to create the curve and a combination of Peerless and Daniel Smith watercolors for my flowers. The sentiment was embossed with gold EP, and I added a few clear sequins to finish up my design.

*************************************************

Loll and Bonnie also have a brand new challenge ~ CAS Christmas!  Since I love playing with my Holly dies, this is my 2nd entry:

For this card, I started with the MFT Stitched Scallop Frame die then colored the Holly and Berry Branch die with Copic markers. I added splatters with Copic Opaque White paint, spritzed everything with Sheer Shimmer Spray, put a generous amount of Glossy Accents on the berries, and embossed the sentiment with gold EP...and, that was it!

There's still a few more days to join in both challenges if you are interested.. In fact, all three of Loll and Bonnie's challenges are amazing, so it's likely you'll find at least one that strikes your fancy :)

Thanks so much for stopping by,

Twofer Card Challenge #3

Hi there, crafty friends! It's time for another fabulous Twofer Card Challenge and this time, Darnell would like us to feature blossoms on our projects! The parameters also include using the exact same stamp or die on both cards, and to create 2 distinctly different designs for 2 different occasions.

I used MFT's Plentiful Petals for my blossoms and the All Smiles stamp set for the sentiments (except for the Altenew 'Treasure' sentiment).

I love a monochromatic card, so for my 'Thinking of You' card, I used a few of my new inks (gifted by a lovely friend) for the blooms and to create the gradient inking on the die cut sentiment.

For my 'Thank You' card, I stamped a large bloom from the same set, and added leaves and an old sparkly gem from my stash. I also used Stone Gray cardstock for the background and another stitched scallop edge.

I rarely create more than one card at a time, so I'm really enjoying this challenge. Plus, Darnell has a super talented DT with some great ideas to inspire us...Check it out Here!

That's it for me today...Wishing you all a fun and crafty weekend! Thanks so much for stopping by,

Fusion Challenge - Rain or Shine

Hi all ~ It's time for a brand new challenge at Fusion and our theme is 'Rain or Shine'! In the U.S., we'll be getting lots of showers over the next several weeks and before we know it, our flowers will be in full bloom!

I was inspired by those 2 adorable little girls in the photo and used the color palette from their raincoats and boots for my rain boots. I popped up the clouds with foam tape and embossed the raindrops in silver. I also thought it would be fun to include a few puddles across the bottom of the card and stamp the sentiment on and off the cloud.

As always, my teamies have created some amazing cards for this challenge...Stop by the Fusion Challenge Blog and check them out and of course, we would love it if you could join us!

CAS Christmas - March Challenge & MFT Sketch Challenge #374

Hi there blog friends,
I'm back to share 2 cards I created over the weekend...Have you heard? Loll and Bonnie have a brand new challenge...CAS Christmas! No more excuses for me to feel overwhelmed in December, frantically creating 20 or 30 more Christmas cards :)

The theme for March is 'Holly'. I have a serious collection of holly stamps and dies, so I'll be entering again next week :). I rarely use patterned papers on my cards, but I have a pack of PTI gold foil papers and thought the stripes would work well here. I stamped the holly and berries and although it's not noticeable on screen, I added glossy accents to the berries for shine. A gold embossed sentiment and a few gold sequins, and that was it...a CAS Christmas card!

*********************************

My 2nd card is for this week's Sketch Challenge at MFT:

I was eager to ink up this cute stamp...I colored her with Copic markers, created the background with stencils, then mounted the frame on stone gray cardstock.

Happy Little Stampers is our Sponsor and Kylie is offering a $15.00 gift card for the winner! We hope you'll stop by and play along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by,

Fusion Challenge - St. Paddy's Day

Hi there blog friends! It's time for another challenge at Fusion and our theme is 'St. Paddy's Day'! As you know, you can use the sketch or the inspiration photo, or both when creating your card...it's up to you ~ I used a few creative liberties with the sketch and the green/yellow/white color palette from the photo to create my card:

I haven't inked up these Mama Elephant critters in the longest time, but I thought the bunny and umbrella would work perfectly here. I masked, then inked the background with Oxide inks fading into white toward the clouds and colored the images with Copic markers.

This challenge is a great opportunity to create a few cards for St. Patrick's Day, and we would love to see your creations in the Fusion Gallery

Thanks so much for stopping by,

Stamps: Mama Elephant - Up & Away
