Addicted to CAS Challenge #135 - Gold

Hi there! It's time for a new challenge at Addicted to CAS and we have a really lovely code word...Gold! Carolyn is our hostess and Happy Little Stampers is our Sponsor, offering a $20.00 GC for the winner! Also, the fabulous Lee Ann Barrett is our Guest Designer, and she has created a gorgeous card for this challenge!

I went all out with gold foil cardstock, using it for the MFT Corners placing them above and below the flowers and using it for the leaves. I stamped the sentiment and flower centers with Gold Detail EP and mounted the panel on Coral Crush cardstock.

We would love to see how the code word 'Gold' inspires you...if you have the time, stop on over to the ATCAS Challenge Blog and play along!

Thanks so much for stopping by,

Fusion Challenge - Pink Phone

Hi there crafty friends! I'm back to share my card for the latest Fusion Challenge and I'm tickled pink with the inspiration photo :) I was goiing to use a brand new floral stamp set, then suddenly remembered that I had this set, which is also new:

I love chatting with my 11 year old granddaughter by phone so I thought this would be a fun card to send to her...of course she has a fancy cell phone whereas (don't laugh) my very first phone was a pink princess phone and I thought it was so cool!

After I colored my little girl with Copics, I stenciled the background and created a stencil with my oval shadow dies to ground the images. I thought the stitched scalloped border added a feminine touch and the silver foil heart mimicked the mirrored images on the telephone in the inspiration photo. I also added a tiny clear confetti gem to the center of the phone.

The challenge lasts 2 weeks, so there is plenty of time to join us at the Fusion Blog ~
Thanks so much for stopping by,

CASology Challenge #296 - Parent

Hi there blog friends ~
I've been working on my DT projects for the past several days, but the doors are about to close on one of my favorite challenges, and I wanted to play along. This week's cue card at CASology is 'Parent', so I thought it was a great opportunity to create a Mother's Day card for my mom ~

I've been on the hunt for this retired PTI stamp set for ages and finally found someone who was selling some of her gently used stamp sets...I used a few Altenew inks gifted to me by a sweet friend for the vases and added some teeny-tiny enamel dots with Nuvo drops for the Orchid.

Thanks so much for stopping by,

Stamps: PTI - Gracious Vases; Clearly Besotted Stamps - Fresh Flowers (sentiment)
Inks: Memento - London Fog; Altenew - Sweet Leaf,  Coral Berry, Aqualicious

April Twofer Challenge - Pets

Hi there! I'm back to share two cards I created for Darnell's really fun 'Twofer Challenge'! For this challenge, we are asked to create two different designs for two different occasions using the same stamps and/or dies. My first card:

This is an NBUS (Darnell speak) stamp and die set which is reminiscent of the turtle my children had when they were young. I thought it would be fun to showcase him walking ever-so-slowly uphill saying thank you to a dear friend :)
I used a retired grassy border die, a mini cloud stencil and kept the colors to a minimum.

My 2nd card was created to provide encouragement a family member going through a rough time right now...

For this card, I used the drifts/hills stencil for the grass and thought it would be fun to use a rainbow of colors for the turtle.
And, here they are together ~

We all have until the 24th to join in...so pop on over to Darnell's Challenge Blog and check it out! Her DT is really amazing, so there is a lot of wonderful inspiration!

Addicted to CAS Challenge #134 - Bubbles

Hi there, blog friends ~ It's time for a new challenge at Addicted to CAS and this time we're playing with 'Bubbles'!

I used this MFT set recently, and couldn't wait to ink it up again...I think the bunnies are adorable :)
I started by using the drifts/hills and mini cloud stencils to create the background and colored the bunnies with Copic markers. I stamped the bubbles directly onto the background and colored them with Prismacolor pencils. The sentiment was stamped with Versafine and sprinkled with clear EP to add shine...and that was it!

If you have a chance, stop over at the ATCAS Challenge Blog and check out all the cute cards by my Teamies...of course, we would love it if you would play along while you're there!

Thanks so much for stopping by,

Fusion Card Challenge - Baby's Room

Hi there, blog friends ~ It's time for a new challenge at Fusion, and this time our theme is 'Baby's Room'! What a beautiful nursery that is...light gray walls with white polka dots...I love it!

I went with the sketch, added my PTI polka dot papers, and inked up my brand new So Matcha stamp set. I colored the images with Copics, created a mask with an oval shadow die and mounted everything on the wonky stitched circle. To keep things CAS, the sentiment is from MFT and the clear sparkly gems are from Pretty Pink Posh....and that was it!

My teamies have created some beautiful cards to inspire you...feel free to stop over to the Fusion Blog to check them out and join us for the challenge!

Thanks so much for stopping by,

April CAS Watercolor & CAS Christmas

Hi there, blog friends! Once again, I'm playing along with Loll &  Bonnie's challenges ~ First up is the CAS Watercolor Challenge and the theme is 'Bird'.

Here is my take on the challenge:

I have several bird dies, but I think this Concord & 9th set works best for watercoloring. I used Peerless watercolors using the same colors, but different 'markings' on each bird. There is a removable border around the branch and birds, which I peeled off to expose the blue watercoloring on the card base. Also, I used gold gems from an old Prima set for the eyes and placed everything onto a white woodgrain panel.

***********************************

Last month, Loll &  Bonnie started a new challenge ~ CAS Christmas and the theme for this month is Ornament!

And, my card...

I had alcohol inks in my stash for years, used them twice and finally gave them away about 3 years ago to a dear friend...then, when I saw all of the gorgeous cards using them in blogland, I bought them again :)
I used 3 shades of blue/teal and once dry, I die cut the ornaments. To create the faux string, I used my Versamark pen to draw a line and embossed them (and the sentiment) with Altenew Rose Gold, which is gorgeous in person! For both cards, I deliberately left off any gems or enamel dots to keep the focus on the birds and ornaments...very clean and very simple!

Stay tuned for the May CAS Christmas Challenge...as the winner of their first challenge, I will be their Guest Designer ~ Woot!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by, and especially for your lovely comments...I read every one, and appreciate them very much ~ Have a great week!
