June "Twofer" Challenge!

Hi all ~ It's time for Darnell's June Twofer Challenge, and this month the prompt is 'Trees'!

And, here are the rules:

I love playing along with this challenge, and I think it's because it really IS a challenge! I had an NBUS stamp set in my stash, so of course, it was the best excuse to ink it up :)

For my one layer 'Friendship' card, I created a mask with an oval die and did some ink blending fading out on the upper right. I deliberately kept it CAS by refraining from adding gems or enamel dots...

For my monochromatic Christmas card, I did more ink blending, this time in shades of blue/green. I stamped the trees, leaving them bare, and added a sweet little bird using the same colors.

And, here they are together ~

If you're looking for a really fun challenge, look no further than Darnell's Twofer Challenge...there's still plenty of time to play along, and I know she would love to see your take on her latest prompt!

Have a great day ~ Thanks so much for stopping by,

Ooooh, your blending is perfection, Barb! Whether warm hues or cool, you have a smooth hand working with the inks! I love how the oval coloring fades off into the white of the card and how you have your sediment and tree flowing from inside the oval to the outside! And eep to that sweet little aqua blue bird enjoying the snow! So adorable!! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #6! Hugs, Darnell

These are wonderful, Barb! Both cards look so different from each other. And you are so right about this being a challenge - I'm too scared to have a go! I keep meaning to join in but my brain freezes when I have to come up with two cards using the same image. Maybe this month I'll join in...

I love your blended background Barb! The masked oval really pops with the shades of orange and the black stamped tree. Really cool how you've shaded only the bottom of the oval. And your Christmas card is so sweet with your blue sponged sky and sweet little birdie! Thanks for playing along with us at Twofer Card Challenge! xx

I am loving both of your tree cards Barb! That oval blending looks amazing-love the colors and love the boldness of the black tree and sentiment. So beautiful and stunning! Your blending on the Christmas card is just as stunning. I need to take a class on how to blend like you do. lol Love the bare winter trees and that sweet little birdie. So cute! Hugs, Brenda

I'm so pleased you inked up that gorgeous NBUS tree stamp, Barb ... and paired it with such delicious blending! The warmth of the friendship card is gorgeous ... love how it fades out to blend with the card base ... the tree is so striking and bold against it! Your Christmas scene is a delight ... that little bird's such a cutie on his snowbank amid the gently falling snow! Of course, your blending is, once again, beautiful! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Twofer! Hugs, Anita :)
