Happy 3rd Birthday to Addicted to CAS Challenge



Hi there blog friends ~ We have a very special blog post for you this week at Addicted to CAS Challenge, but before I go into the details, I want to let you know that Loll is our hostess, and Gerrina is our Guest Designer!

Addicted to CAS Challenge Blog is celebrating our 3rd Birthday, and we are asking everyone to create a card with dimension. To celebrate this special event, we have several sponsors, who are offering some fabulous prizes ~ Also, winners will be chosen at random!!!

In honor of this event, I decided to make two birthday cards:



This is where my MISTI came in handy, because I used three distinct colors to create the ombre effect on this card. To add dimension, I stacked 4 layers of the die cut sentiment, and added a layer of dark gray cardstock to create a shadow. A few gem stones, flowers and a stamped sentiment, and this card was finished!

For my 2nd card, I created three layers of cardstock in white, silver and red, and lined up diagonal strips of bright colored papers in rainbow order, before die cutting the sentiment. The embossed fireworks were part of a gift from a very sweet and generous friend...Thanks again, V!!!

    These are both wonderful, Barb ... those rainbow stripes are just so happy (of course!!) ... and your ombré die cut with those sweet blooms at each end is just delicious ... love it! Hugs, Anita :)

    Love the ombre! Cool idea to use the Misti for that! I would have just inked up the stamp with different inks and hoped for the best .... have to remember that trick!

    You've infused 'celebration' into both cards in fine style, Barb! The ombre of the first happy, bookended with the sweet flowers, is so pretty. The pretty rainbow of the second, with the shimmery fireworks, is eye-catching! Love the dimension you created in stacking layers!
