Happy Holidays

Hi everyone,
I have a quick post today, sharing a card I created for two challenges. The first challenge is being hosted by Darnell who has reached her next milestone in followers...600! And, it’s no surprise given Darnell’s amazing and fun blog posts! Seriously, if you haven’t visited her blog, you’re in for a real treat! She is incredibly talented, and has coined a few phrases including one that she used for this challenge called ‘NBUS’, which is an acronym for “Never before used schtuff”! And the theme for this challenge is to select from this list:

1. Christmas
2. Make two cards using the same stamp.
3. Both of the above.
4. None of the above.

I chose #1, so I’ve created a Christmas card, and used my brand new Lawn Fawn stamp and die set, Winter Penguin:

I used SSS Falling Snow Stencil, and when I finished the card, I realized that I must have placed it on the card side ways...so, it looks like a snow storm is coming in from the Northwest! I stamped one of the shadow stamps from Paper Smooches in light blue under each penguin to create the effect of a pond, stamped and die cut the penguins, then colored them with Copics, giving each of them a different scarf. Lastly, I stamped the sentiment and popped the front panel up on a black card base.

Also, the Cue Card this week at CASology is ‘Three’, and since I used 3 penguins, I thought it would work well for this challenge, too.

Thanks so much for stopping by ~
Barb

  23. So sweet and cute, Barb. Absolutely love your skating penguins with the different scarves. I think that the way you placed the stencil and penguins was great, for it looks like the penguins are skating away from the snow storm that, everyone knows, is coming from the Northwest :). Love the shadows too.

  29. Saw your card over at Darnell's NBUS challenge and popped over to take a closer look. Love those little ice skating Penguins, and I wouldn't have known that snow storm was coming in from the Northwest if you hadn't mentioned it lol. How neat to get shadow stamps, it does make a difference. Hugs Lottie
