Happy Birthday, Darnell!

Hi there! Today I'm joining the CAS Watercolor DT to celebrate Darnell's birthday with a card featuring a bouquet of flowers!!

For the vase, I used Brushos and spritzed it with a mixture of Perfect Pearls and water. The roses were colored with Zig markers and the shadow was created with Copic markers. I added a few sparkly sequins and stamped the sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black ink...and that was it ~

If you have a chance, stop by the CAS Watercolor Challenge Blog to see all of the beautiful cards created by the team and special featured designers (friends from their retreat)!

Happy, Happy Birthday, Darnell! I hope all of your birthday wishes come true and that the coming year is filled with good health and fun times!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by,

CAS Stencil February Challenge

Hi there ~
It's time for the next challenge at CAS Stencil and our Hostess, Nancy, has chosen powdered inks for our stenciling technique! I chose to play with my Brushos to create this card:

Using powdered inks with stencils can be tricky, so I referred to one of Loll's video tutorials for my background. I started by ink blending in light blue, then I placed the waves stencil and added Brushos and water. The fish was colored with Copics and I added a coat of Glossy Accents to the heart and a few dots to mimic bubbles.

If you would like to play along with us and have never used powdered inks with stencils, there are links to several video tutorials on the challenge blog to guide you :) Of course, my teammates have also created some beautiful cards to inspire you...Hope to see you there!

Thanks so much for stopping by,

November CAS Watercolor Challenge

Hi there ~ It's time for a new challenge at the CAS Watercolor Challenge and I'm loving the prompt that Susan chose for this month...Christmas Florals & Greenery!

For this beautiful Poinsettia and holly branch, I thought it would be fun to channel my inner 'Loll Thompson'...isn't she amazing?
Since I love playing with Brushos, I used several shades of blue and green for the background panel, drying it with my heat tool between colors. I wanted a white on white color palette and used linen cardstock for both elements, then added Prills to the center of the bloom and gold EP for the sentiment. A few gold sequins and this card was done and dusted!

Thanks so much for stopping by,

It's a Celebration!

Hi there, blog friends ~
Today is a very special day for me...3 years ago today I started my blog, and I'm excited to share my blog anniversary with you!

First things first: I'm sure you noticed that I have a brand new blog header. Isn't is beautiful? My dear friend Loll Thompson created it for me, and I am so grateful to her for all of her hard work and for sharing her incredible talents with me! Loll also created a brand new signature and watermark to match!!!
Secondly, to thank you all for being such loyal blog friends, I am offering a $25. GC to SSS in a random drawing! Just leave a note in the comments section below (you can just say hello, if you like), and on Wednesday October 19th, I will announce the winner!
To celebrate, I also created 2 cards. The first was just for fun (and to play with my new MFT Big Hello die):

I used Peerless watercolors to create an ombre effect on the die cut letters, and colored the elephant with Copics. The stamped sentiment is from Winnie & Walter.

And, my 2nd card:

I created this card for the current SSS Flickr Challenge #55 - Sketch. Autumn is my favorite time of year, so I broke down and bought this SSS set and added the leaves from Lawn Fawn. The cross-stitched circle is from MFT, and the stitched pumpkins are from SSS.
Here is the sketch ~
With special thanks again to Loll for all of your hard work to make my blog so beautiful! You're the BEST!!!

Don't forget to say hello for your chance to win a GC to SSS! Deadline to comment is Tuesday, October 18th at 11:00 p.m.
Thanks so much for stopping by.

CAS Mix Up - Marbling; Muse Challenge #183; Altenew Ultimate Challenge Blog Hop

Hi there,
A quick post for me to share 2 cards I created for several challenges ~
First up, is my entry for the CAS Mix Up Challenge. I usually have my card posted earlier than this, but the challenge is to use the 'Marbling' technique, and I needed white (old fashioned) shaving cream :)

I swirled some color with Brushos into the shaving cream to create the pattern behind the vellum butterfly and sentiment...it was fun! Bonnie gives a great step-by-step tutorial in This Post, if you're interested in trying it out :) I added a few gems, PTI clear Rainstones and a stamped sentiment, and that was it!

My 2nd card is for three challenges: Muse Card Club #183, Virginia's View Challenge, and since I used Altenew flowers for this card, I am also adding it to the Altenew Ultimate Challenge Blog Hop.

Tracey McNeely created a gorgeous card this week for the Muse Challenge (see below), and I couldn't wait to play along! Of course, now I'm sliding in at the last minute :) I chickened out with the watercolor wash after ruining 2 other cards...but, I did add some fun pink and white splatters, which was perfect for Virginia's challenge...too bad I missed the deadline!

As always, thank you so much for stopping by, and for leaving sweet comments...I read and appreciate every one ~ Have a great week ahead,
