We would love to see how the code word ‘Hearts’ inspires you! If you would like to see inspiration from the Design Team and play along with us, come on over and check out the ATCAS Blog ~

Addicted to CAS Card Challenge - Fishy

Hello crafty friends! Today starts a new challenge at Addicted to CAS ~ Jaydee is our Hostess, and she is challenging everyone to create a card using the Code Word ‘Fishy’. Our Guest Designer is the amazing Jen .

I recently bought this free form watercolor stencil and couldn't wait to use it on a card...I used three distress inks to create the water, colored the whale with Copic markers and die cut the net with a new die from a Swedish company called 'Gummiapan'. A puny sentiment and a few clear droplets and this card was complete!

We would love to see how the code word ‘Fishy’ inspires you! If you would like to see inspiration from the Design Team, and play along with us, come on over and check out the ATCAS Blog ~

CAS Christmas Card Challenge - Reminder

Hello friends ~ Just a reminder that there is still time to link up your card for the July CAS Christmas Card Challenge. Linda is hosting this month and she has chosen ‘Poinsettia’ for our prompt.

Recently, I went on a shopping spree at The Greetery and I used a few of my new goodies for this card. I used traditional colors for the poinsettias, a gold gel pen for the centers, and just for fun, light gray for the berries :) I stamped the sentiment then topped it with clear EP for a lovely shine (too bad it doesn't show on screen).

My teamies have created some beautiful cards to inspire everyone ~ Come on over to the Challenge Blog to check them out, and play along with us, if you like! You have until the 24th to submit your card and it's a great way to add to your Christmas card stash! I hope to see you there ~

Addicted to CAS Card Challenge

Hello and welcome to a brand new challenge at Addicted to CAS hosted by Raga.
Here's the theme she has chosen:

I guess I didn't realize how many stamps, dies, and stencils I had with shapes...not to mention in a variety of sizes, too! In the end, I decided to use a diamond stencil and dies.

Please excuse the glare. I tried photographing this card from every angle and between the silver foil cardstock and the silver embossing powder, I couldn't get a nice clean shot! After stenciling the diamond pattern and placing the die-cuts, I added this new layered bloom from Altenew. Lastly, I added a few crystal gems, and this card was finished ~

We would love to see how the code word ‘Shapes’ inspires you! If you would like to see inspiration from the Design Team and play along with us, come on over and check out the ATCAS Blog

Twofer Card Challenge #35 - Balloons

Hi there ~ I finally carved out some time to create a card for the Twofer Card Challenge. Here are the rules:

Since the prompt for February is balloons I used a SSS stencil and started with a birthday card:

I took my inspiration from the rainbow for my color palette and thought it would be fun to use the camouflage technique for the die-cut sentiment. A few balloon strings and clear sequins, and that was it!

______________________________________________

I like to send encouragement cards to our 14-year-old granddaughter, so that was the theme for my 2nd card:

After I stenciled the balloon, I colored the elephant and butterflies with Copic markers, then stenciled the clouds and patch of grass using an oval die.

_________________________________________

This is the photo of both cards to post on the challenge blog:

The Twofer Challenge is open until February 24th, so there is still plenty of time to play along ~

Fusion Card Challenge - Thank You!

Hi there blog friends ~ For about the past year, I have been fussing and fretting over the poor quality of my photos. Well, last week, my camera died!
What??? You mean all this time the problem is my camera? But it's only 13 years old! DUH!
Introducing my brand new Canon EOS SL3...and she's a beauty!!!

Just in time for the new challenge at Fusion and this time our prompt is ‘Thank You’.  For my card, I chose to combine the sketch with the theme from the inspiration photo...

I thought it would be fun to use this new Fairy stamp set from MFT. I stenciled the mini clouds, then colored her with Copic markers and Prismacolor pencils. The 'Thanks' die is an old fave of mine from Paper Smooches and the stitched circle die-cut is from Lil' Inkers. A few clear sequins and this card was complete :)

Don't forget the best thing about the Fusion Card Challenge is that you can choose between the sketch and the theme/inspiration photo, or both! My teamies have created some beautiful cards to inspire you, so feel free to stop by the challenge blog and play along with us!

Since this is a new stamp set, I would also like to enter this card to Darnell's NBUS Challenge #13 ~

Fusion Card Challenge

Hi there blog friends ~ It's time for a new challenge at Fusion and this time our prompt is ‘Rainbow Birds’.
I combined the inspiration photo with the sketch but flipped it to create a horizontal card.

I started by blending distress inks in rainbow order for the background and decided to leave the birds white so they would pop against the bold colors. I added a sentiment and a few clear sequins, and this card was complete :)

Don't forget the best thing about the Fusion Card Challenge is that you can choose between the sketch and the inspiration photo, or both! My teamies have created some beautiful cards to inspire you, so feel free to stop by the challenge blog and play along with us!

Fusion Card Challenge - Rainbow Cupcake

Inspiration Photo/Sketch

Hi there blog friends ~ It's time for a new challenge at Fusion and this time our prompt is Rainbow Cupcake.

As you can see, I stepped WAY out of my comfort zone creating this card, but I really like the sketch, and wanted to go with that.

Pink and gray is my all-time favorite color combo, so I decided to use it as opposed to the color palette on the inspiration photo. I started by stamping the polka dot background and used felt to die cut the bloom. I also thought it would be fun to use the Mod Rectangle die for the focal point on this card...and that was it ~

Don't forget the best thing about the Fusion Card Challenge is that you can choose between the sketch and the inspiration photo, or both! My teamies have created some beautiful cards to inspire you, so feel free to stop by the challenge blog and play along with us!

November CAS Watercolor Challenge

Hi there ~ It's time for a new challenge at the CAS Watercolor Challenge and I'm loving the prompt that Susan chose for this month...Christmas Florals & Greenery!

For this beautiful Poinsettia and holly branch, I thought it would be fun to channel my inner 'Loll Thompson'...isn't she amazing?
Since I love playing with Brushos, I used several shades of blue and green for the background panel, drying it with my heat tool between colors. I wanted a white on white color palette and used linen cardstock for both elements, then added Prills to the center of the bloom and gold EP for the sentiment. A few gold sequins and this card was done and dusted!

Thanks so much for stopping by,

Supplies:
Stamps: MFT - Cheerful Christmas Greetings (sentiment)

Fusion Challenge - Wine O'Clock

Hi there blog friends ~
It's time for a new challenge at Fusion, and this time our inspiration is 'Wine'! Since we are able to use the sketch, the inspiration photo or both, I have used both for my card:

I started by creating a watercolored panel using liquid watercolors, and while it dried, I inked 3 small pieces of Bristol cardstock with distress oxide inks. Then, I die cut the wine bottle and glasses and used white glitter cardstock to die cut the sentiment. I also added a thin strip of glitter cardstock along the border...a few clear sparkly sequins, and this card was done :)

The Design Team has created some beautiful cards for this challenge, so I hope you'll check them out and consider playing along with us at Fusion! And, don't forget it's a 2-week challenge, so there is plenty of time to submit a card ~

Fusion Card Challenge - Fall Porch

Hi there blog friends ~ It's time for a new challenge at Fusion! If you're enjoying the cooler temperatures and beautiful autumn colors like we are right now in most of North America, then you'll be inspired by the photo, just as I was...

I'm really loving this wreath, so I decided to use it again for this challenge. This time, I used the color palette in the photo and linen cardstock for my card base. I stamped the wreath onto X-Press It cardstock and colored all the images with Copic markers. I embossed the sentiment with gold embossing powder, added a small enamel dot to the bloom, and a touch of WOS to a few of the images for some sparkle.

My teammates have created some really beautiful cards, and I hope you'll check them out and join us for this challenge...whether you find your inspiration in the sketch or the photo or both, we would love to see your creations in the Fusion Gallery!

Thanks so much for stopping by,

October Twofer Card Challenge - Harvest

Hi there blog friends ~ I always enjoy playing along with Darnell's Twofer Challenge and as soon as I saw this month's prompt, 'Harvest', I ordered this cute stamp set from Pretty Pink Posh:

My first card (left) was stamped on Blending Card and colored with Copic markers in autumn colors. To keep it CAS, I added a sentiment with copper embossing powder with a touch of WOS and Glossy Accents on the flower.
For my 2nd card, I wanted to create a monochromatic color palette and stamped the images with cement gray ink on a stone gray panel. I stepped outside my comfort zone and stamped a few images in a random pattern, then die cut the panel with the stitched scallop border die. I added a scripty sentiment and a few sparkly sequins, and this card was finished.

The rules for the Twofer Challenge are: We can interpret the prompt however it inspires us, but we must use the same stamp or die on both cards and they must be for 2 different occasions.
Darnell and her team have provided lots of beautiful inspiration on the Challenge Blog, so be sure to check it out...I also have a badge on my sidebar with the rules of the challenge, if you would like to play along...deadline is the 24th!

Have a great weekend ~ Thanks so much for stopping by,

Fusion Card Challenge - Daisies

It's time for another Fusion Challenge, and this time our theme is 'Daisies'! Remember ~ you may choose the sketch or inspiration photo or both, and this time, I chose both!

I don't have any formal 'daisy' stamps or dies, but this flower from the MFT Stitched Flowers dies seem to work well. I stamped the polka dots with Versamark and let it dry to get a tone-on-tone look showcasing the blue vase in the photo. The circle was made using vellum and wonky stitched circles and to jazz it up a bit, I added a thin strip of gold foil between the polka dot pattern and card base.

Be sure to check out all the beautiful cards my teamies created to inspire you on the Fusion Blog...and while you're there, we would love to see your take on the challenge :)

Thanks so much for stopping by,

July CAS Watercolor Challenge, Muse Card Club

Hello again, blog friends! I'm playing along with a few challenges, so I'm back to share my entries...My first card is for the July CAS Watercolor Challenge, and the theme is 'Splash Watercoloring'.

I started by watching Loll's Video on the Splash Watercoloring technique, and I was so happy that it looked like an underwater scene. I wanted to keep it CAS, so I added one of my NBUS Mermaids reaching for a sparkly sequin...and that was it - no foliage or schools of fish :)
I am also entering this card in the current CAS on Friday Challenge for the theme 'Watercolor'.

********************************

My 2nd card is for this week's challenge at Muse Card Club, where Anita created this beauty to inspire us:

I really love Anita's card...to the extent that I actually CASE'd it!

I used the same Distress Inks except I didn't splash it with water and I used a different bloom. No imagination here, guys...but you know what they say...'Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery'!

Thanks so much for stopping by,
