Cards From the Heart Card Drive

Hello everyone! I have another card to share for the Cards From the Heart Card Drive, and of course, I’ll be entering my card into a few challenges.

This week marks the first ever challenge at The Card Concept, and we were given an inspiration photo as well as a color palette to choose from. Also, since the current challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More is a ‘Make Your Mark’ challenge, I thought I would combine the two! I found this cute little Valentine image from Digistamps Boutique, and thought this sweet little puppy was perfect.

For the Card Concept Challenge, I was inspired by the challenge colors: Kraft, Pink, Vanilla and Espresso. I colored my puppy with 2 shades of brown and used marshmallow cardstock for the front panel, and of course pink for the heart and butterflies. This challenge is also unique, in that we have several styles to choose from among the DT, and I’m guessing my card is considered ‘Clean & Layered’.

For the Addicted to Stamps & More Challenge, we are being asked to color an image using our favorite medium (markers, inks, pencils), so I chose to use my trusty Copic markers!

Well, that’s it for me ~ I hope everyone has a fun and crafty weekend!

More Christmas Cards

Hello everyone!
I have 2 cards to share today. The first one is for this week’s challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More

Our challenge is to create a card based on the photo inspiration, which is like a beautiful scene from ‘Home for the Holidays’. I’ve been wanting to do some offset stamping, so I used white pigment ink on the poinsettia’s, then shifted my block and stamped them again in blue ink. When I try techniques like this, I often wonder how Laura Bassen and Jen McGuire can eyeball a project and stamp images without a stamp-a-ma-jig...not me! If I need perfect placement, then I need that tool :-) I added a few gems, some twine and popped the blue panel up on a white card base...all set!

Here is a close up:

My 2nd card is for this week’s challenge at Less is More. Our challenge is to create a one layer card, based on the theme 'The 12 Days of Christmas’. Well, that is a challenge for me, but I did find a digi image of a pear tree by Beccy Muir.

I printed the pear tree image on Copic X-press cardstock, and colored everything with my copics. Then, I used my Wink of Stella glitter pen on the pears and red bow. The sentiment is computer generated. And, that’s when a one layer card gets difficult...you have to ‘stop’!

EDITED***Thank you so much, Chrissie and Jen, for Showcasing my card this week at Less is More!!

Well, that’s it for me ~ I hope everyone is doing well and is off to a great week! Thank you all so much for stopping by...I really appreciate it!

You're Special

Hello everyone!
Before I get started, I just wanted to give everyone a 'Heads Up' ~ Paper Smooches is having their November DT Blog Hop! If you're interested, head on over there for a chance to win a $25.00 gift card to their online store!

I have a few challenge cards to share today...no surprise, right? For this week’s challenge at Less is More, we are being asked to create a card using a ‘Bird’, and for the challenge at  Addicted to Stamps and More ~ the theme is 'Holiday'. So, how could I resist playing with this adorable Lawn Fawn stamp and die set called Winter Sparrows! I also created a mask and used embossing paste to add the branches for the birds to sit on and added a few gems to represent berries!

I needed a cute card to put into a ‘Care Package’ for my step-granddaughter, who is a freshman in college, so I used my digi stamp called “Mac and Flowers” from the Digi Stamp Boutique. It’s a little tricky to color fur with Copics, so I ran a search on You Tube, and watched a few videos to get some ideas. I colored everything to look 'furry' except his belly...Hope she likes it! I am entering this card for this week’s challenge at Addicted to CAS. Our code word is ‘Pet’ ~

And, here is a close-up of the sparkle on the flowers...I’m completely addicted to my new Wink of Stella pen ~

I’ll be baking pies for the rest of the day, and may not have time to visit blogland as much as usual. So, I’m sending my best wishes to all of my  U.S. friends for a very Happy Thanksgiving! I hope everyone has safe travels and a great time with friends and family!
As a new blogger, one of the things I am so grateful for, is the love and support I have received from everyone who takes the time to stop by my blog to leave a sweet comment...Thank you, from the bottom of my heart!

Until next time...Take care,
Barb

A New Challenge

Hello all, and thanks for stopping by ~

This week’s challenge at  Less is More is to create a one layer card, and to include the theme of Witches & Wizards. I had this cute ‘Witch’ digi stamp, and couldn’t resist getting out my Copics and coloring her up! Unfortunately, I only have 2 Copics in the ‘purple family’, so I had to do some creative blending on her cape (or is that a dress?)...either way, right? It’s funny, how anything to do with witches reminds me of the 60‘s song by Donovan, “Season of the Witch”. So, now I’m dating myself (wink) and of course, I won’t be able to get this song out of my head for the next few days...yikes!

So, here is my card:

I hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful autumn weather like we’re having on the east coast of the U.S. - The air is crisp and cool, and it’s such a pleasure after a long hot summer!
