Twofer Card Challenge #13

Hi there blog friends! I am truly honored to share the cards I created as Guest Designer for the February Twofer Card Challenge ~ I was so excited when Darnell shared the February prompt with me, as I have a new stamp set with lots of fabulous stars...

Here is my first card:

I started by inking the background with distress inks and added a few extra stars and splatters. I then stamped the swirly star's image and sentiment and spritzed the entire panel with Shimmer Spray.

And, here is my Twofer:

For this card, I wanted my gold fairy to 'reach for the stars'...I added the gold embossed sentiment and placed everything on the stenciled cloud background.

I know Darnell would be thrilled if you played along and if you do, remember the special rules for the challenge:

Here is the photo I am posting to Darnell's Challenge Blog:

My dear friend Cat Craig is Co-Guesting with me, and as always, she has created two fabulous cards for the challenge! We hope to see you there ~

CASology Challenge - Frozen

Hi there blog friends ~ I've been lucky enough to be asked to Guest Design for CASology again and of course, I jumped at the opportunity.  The cue word for this weeks challenge is 'Frozen', which is perfect for this time of year for those of us living in my neck of the woods :)

I love the cute little penguins in this set...they're so sweet! I used my new waves stencil to add some soft blue water, stamped the sentiment (with a coat of clear EP) and popped up the image to add dimension to this card. I also thought the wonky stitched border and dots of Glossy Accents (water droplets) added a little charm to the design without adding bulk. And, that was it!

I want to thank Melissa and the DT at CASology for the honor of being their Guest Designer this week! If you have a few minutes, go check out the gallery...As always, the DT has lots of inspiration for you!

Thanks so much for stopping by,

Guest Designer CASology Challenge #313

Hi there blog friends! I am honored to share with you that as the winner of the CASology Challenge in April (cue card: Parent), Melissa has asked me to join them this week as Guest Designer for the cue card 'Dress'!

I have one of the original Silhouette Cameo's, and I never know if it's going to cooperate when I need a die cut...this week, I got lucky and found this lovely image in their store for my card ~

I started by die cutting the stitched scalloped mat, and to keep things really clean & simple, I sponged a light background, popped her up on foam squares, and added a scripty sentiment, which I embossed with clear EP. Lastly, I added the dots with my gel pen...and that was it!

Be sure to stop by the CASology Challenge to see all of the beautiful cards created by their amazing Design Team...I think you'll be inspired to play along :)

Thanks so much for stopping by,

CAS Christmas Challenge - Reminder

Hi everyone,
Today is the reminder for the August CAS Christmas Challenge...there's still one more week to play along! For this post, I used one of my favorite Christmas trees ~

I started by embossing the tree in white, then used distress inks in 2 shades of green and gold foil for the star. I also blended Tumbled Glass ink, popped the tree up with foam tape and mounted it to the cross-stitch oval mat. I added a few sparkly sequins and embossed the sentiment in gold...and that was it :)

December will be here before we know it, and we would love to have you join us by submitting a card to the gallery!  A big thank you to Loll and Bonnie for having me along as their Guest Designer for August...it has been such an honor!

Thanks so much for stopping by,

August CAS Christmas Challenge

Hi there blog friends! I am honored to share with you that I was asked to be the Guest Designer for the August CAS Christmas Card Challenge! I enjoy playing along every month and usually create a few cards while I have my supplies out. Their theme for August is 'Tree', so I grabbed some NBUS stamps and dies and got started on my card ~

For the trees, I used MFT Oh Christmas Tree. I created the ombre effect with my inks, then spritzed them with Shimmer Spray. I embossed the sentiment and flourish with gold EP and added a few gold sequins...and that was it :)

I have a package of SSS tree stencils in my stash, so I created another card:

I stenciled the trees with pastel inks and spritzed them with Shimmer Spray, then stamped the sentiment in light gray. Here is a close-up of the sparkle on the trees:

As always, Loll, Bonnie, and the Design Team have created some gorgeous cards to inspire everyone and since the challenge lasts until the 24th, we would love to have you stop by the Challenge Blog and join us!

May CAS Christmas Challenge - Take 2

Hi there crafty friends! I'm back with my reminder post as May Guest Designer for the fabulous CAS Christmas Challenge!
There is still time to play along in this month's challenge! Here is my 2nd card:

For this card, I stenciled some snowy hills and stamped this really cute Penny Black Snowman. I colored him with Copic markers, used a touch of Glossy Accents for his nose, and added a few polka dots to his scarf with my gel pen. The snowflake is from MFT, which I embossed with iridescent sparkle EP. I used my MISTI to stamp the sentiment and re-stamped it with Versamark and added clear EP for some shine...a clear sparkly gem for the snowflake and a wonky stitched border, and that was it!

I hope you'll go through your stash and dig up your favorite snowman stamps or dies and join us at the CAS Christmas Challenge...you know December will be here before we know it, and it's never too early to get started creating our Christmas cards :)

The theme for this month is 'Snowman'...here is my card:

This is an NBUS stamp set by Wild Rose Studio, which I colored with Copic markers and added glittery snowflakes. I added a sentiment and a thin red mat, and this card was completed! Here is a close-up of the snow:

I wanted to create something elegant for a wedding anniversary, so I started by ink blending the Scribble Flowers and foliage with Distress Oxide Inks.  I would love to see your take on my card...you can use the design,  theme, color palette, or whatever elements that strike your fancy. Just stop by the Muse Challenge Blog!

CASology Challenge - Butterfly

Hi there blog friends! In December, Jen from CASology chose my card as the winner for the cue card 'Gray', and today I am honored to be Guest Designer for the current challenge! The cue card this week is 'Butterfly', and oh, do I love playing with my butterfly stamps and dies :)

Here is my take on 'Butterfly' ~

Beautiful butterflies was one of my first stamp sets from PTI and I don't ink it up often enough. For this card, I decided to add the Fancy Flourishes in pastel pink to highlight the sentiment. I never seem to have a sympathy card on hand when I need it, so I took this opportunity to create this one for future use.

CASology is such a fun challenge...the DT girls are incredibly talented and the cue card is always thought provoking! If you have a chance, stop over there and check it out...I would love to see some of the butterflies you have tucked away in your stash :)

My sincere thanks to Jen for selecting my card and to Melissa for asking me to be the Guest Designer for this week's challenge ~

Tag You're It Challenge #67 - Reminder

Hello again, blog friends ~
As Guest Designer for the current challenge at Tag You're It, I just wanted to remind you all that there is still time to play along with us!

I love Marion's tag, so this time I decided to use her design and a stencil with texture paste, but switched it up and created a Christmas tag...

I started with Sea Glass cardstock and stenciled the Festive Layering Stencil with texture paste. The Poinsettia is from Clearly Besotted, and I added a few elements from PTI Spruce & Sprigs with a few tiny pearls.

Many thanks to the DT at the Tag You're It Challenge for asking me to be their guest for this challenge...I had lots of fun! I hope you will all check it out, and play along with us before the challenge closes!

Thanks so much for stopping by,
