October CAS Watercolor Challenge

Hello there blog friends! CAS Watercolor Challenge is celebrating their 2nd birthday, and as always, I am excited to play along! For the October challenge, they have chosen a beautiful autumn color palette for us...and here is my take ~

I wanted to watercolor a flower, so I chose this lovely Gerbera Daisy from Winnie & Walter using my brand new liquid watercolors. I also painted a strip of dark green on the left with Glimmer Metallic Ink, and added a touch of Wink of Stella to the center of the bloom...here is a close-up ~

It's a little difficult to see the sparkle on screen, but I love the effect of all the shimmer and flecks of gold in the green metallic ink on the border. I mixed it with a little water and brushed it on...yummy! I'll be adding more colors to my collection asap.

Check out THIS VIDEO by Jen McGuire using the Hero Arts Glimmer Metallic Inks.

Happy 2nd Birthday to Loll, Bonnie and their amazing DT at the CAS Watercolor Challenge!

Thanks so much for stopping by,

Addicted to CAS Challenge #146

Hi there ~ It's time for another fun challenge at Addicted to CAS and Ceal has chosen a fabulous code word for everyone ~ Diamond!
Happy Little Stampers is our Sponsor, offering a $20.00 GC to the shop, and we have a super talented Guest Designer for this challenge...Carol G.

Several weeks ago, I bought the Altenew Cube Builder Stencil, which is a layered stencil of diamond shapes.

I started by sponging the diamonds to create a border, then inked the flower, stems and sentiment. I embossed the word 'always' and finished the card with a few clear sparkly sequins...and that was it!

I wasn't sure about this card, so I decided to re-create it in 'portrait' view, and I like it better:

Check your stash for diamonds, then come over and check out the ATCAS Challenge Blog for lots of inspiration..and to play along :)

Red, White or Rose'

Hello again, blog friends ~ I'm back to share a few cards I created for 2 of my favorite challenges.

I love the effect of inlaid (Camouflaged) die cutting and wanted to use a new MFT die 'Cheers' for my card:

Stamping, Inlaid Die Cutting, Wonky Stitched Border, Rainstones

I started by stamping the wine bottles and glasses (red, white & rose'), then die cut the sentiment. Here is a close up of the Cheers die:

My second card is for the April CAS Watercolor Challenge for the theme 'Green & Pink'

Clearly Besotted has some beautiful floral stamps, so I chose to stamp this bloom on Bristol cardstock, then colored the petals and leaves with Zig Clean Color markers. I kept the card CAS by just adding a few clear sequins and a plain stitched border.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend, and that you're finding some crafty time for yourself!

CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge #215

Hello again...a quick post from me today! I don't play in the CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge very often, but this week the sketch was created by my dear friend Michele, so I wanted to join in the fun

~ Here is Michele's sketch:

And, my card:

I started by stamping the background with Versamark and added clear EP for a subtle effect. The flower is a stencil from SSS called 'Bouquet of Flowers', which I inked with DI's. I used Luxe Silver cardstock on the die cut sentiment and Soft Granite on the stamped banner.

In case it's hard to see the leaves on the background, here is a close-up:
