Hello Sweet Friend

Hi there blog friends ~ It’s time for our March challenge at CAS Stencil! Our Guest Designer is the incredibly talented ‘Cat’ from Cat Luvs Paper and our Hostess for this challenge is Viv, who chose ‘Heat Embossing’ for our prompt ~

I’ve tried several techniques with my stencils, but this is the first time I used my embossing powders and I have to say that I really had fun with it ~  I started with my powder tool then applying Versamark to the stencil before sprinkling embossing powder to the wildflowers. I heat embossed the sentiment with gold EP and die cut 'hello' with gold cardstock.

I hope you'll grab your stencils and come join us at the CAS Stencil Challenge Blog for this unique challenge! Our GD Cat and my teamies have created some beautiful cards to inspire you...and don’t forget we always have links to a few video tutorials showcasing the technique for each challenge. I hope to see you there ~ the challenge closes on the 24th.

Thanks so much for stopping by,

You Make Me Smile

Hi there blog friends,
I've been on the fence about entering the MFT Card Design Superstar Contest, so just before they close their doors, I've decided to submit this card for the CAS category:

This little guy is my favorite from the new Bitty Bears stamp set, and I thought (hoped, really) that he would work in place of the letter "O" in the die cut. I used the paisley stencil for the background and blended distress inks to create an ombre effect on the alphas.

Supplies: (All MFT products)
Stamps: Bitty Bears, All About You
Dies: Bitty Bears, All About You, Fishtail Sentiment Strip, Blueprints 25
Stencil: Bold Paisley
Inks: MFT - Black Hybrid; DI's - Carved Pumpkin, Mustard Seed; Hero Arts - Soft Vanilla; Versamark
Embossing Powder: Stampendous Detail White
Gems: Lucy's Cards - Clear Jewels

Thanks so much for stopping by,

CAS on Friday Challenge #113 & Muse

Hi there ~
Now that our children are grown and off on their own, our fur-baby, Movado, has become the focus of our love and attention...He was with us for 16 years (a very old man for his breed) and sadly, we had to say goodbye to him yesterday.
I was going to post this card yesterday, but instead spent most of the day with hubby and a box of Kleenex...what can I say...here is a photo of our little prince:

If you're old enough to remember The Little Rascals, then you're probably thinking that he looks just like Petey :) Movado was a great friend, and we will miss him very, very much!

The theme for the current challenge at CAS on Friday is 'Exotic'. While rummaging through my stash, I came across this PTI stamp set that I purchased from Laurie Willison several weeks ago...I hope these Palm Prints are exotic enough to meet the criteria for the challenge. I am also entering this card into this week's Muse Challenge ~ Anything Goes!

This is a 2-step stamping set so I used dye inks and gold EP. I die cut the sentiment in gold foil, added a few splatters and that was it!

Wishing you all a great weekend! Thanks so much for stopping by,

Choose your Muse!

Hi there, blog friends! I have a few cards to share, but before I get started, I have a question:
Does anyone know why my 'foil die cuts' are getting smashed in my Big Shot? I've noticed that the edges sometimes have a crease near the corner, too. Here is an example of what I mean...take note of the letters "g" and "f'':

If you have any thoughts or suggestions, please leave a comment below ~ Thanks!

There’s a birthday party over at Muse Card Challenge for Ardyth, and she has asked us to 'Choose among any of her cards to serve as our Muse'. I found tons of cards that I LOVE in her Pinterest gallery, and this is the one that I decided on:

And, my take on her card:

I focused on Ardyth's design but used more muted colors. Ardyth used her Zig markers, but I didn't have good luck with them so I used DI's. I also used inlaid die cutting and stacked the sentiment with 3 layers.

Belated Happy Birthday to you, Ardyth! You have inspired me so much over the past few years with your gorgeous cards and encouraging words...Thank you! Also, I must say,
"You look amazing at 50...way to go!!!"

My next card is for the CAS on Sunday Challenge and we have been asked to 'Use a Repetition Image' on a card:

I finally bought the Altenew Halftone Circles stamp set and couldn't wait to ink them up. I used the colors of the rainbow and chose a sentiment from PTI Make it Market mini-kit.

My next card is for the current SSS Flickr Challenge #72 and the theme is 'Summer Fun'

A very simple card using the SSS Sailboat Wafer Die and Sailing Stamp set for the sentiment.

If you're still with me, thank you! I have one more card to share, which is not for a challenge. I won a place in the latest Online Card Class - Sparkle & Shine and this is my take on a technique by the AMAZING Laura Bassen!

I used the latest MFT Card Kit for the sentiment. The heart was embossed with four layers of EP and the swirls were created with dye ink. The border is also from MFT, the sprigs and patterned papers are from PTI and the enamel dots are DIY Nuvo Jewel Drops.
Very pretty in real life...Thanks, Laura!!!

OK, so that's it for me...thank you again for hanging in there...I really do appreciate it!

Thanks so much for stopping by...Have a great weekend ~
