Addicted to CAS Challenge #67

Hi everyone,
Before I begin, I would just like to say Happy 4th of July to all who are celebrating today, and my belated Happy Birthday wishes to Canada!!!

It's time for another challenge at Addicted to CAS! Our Hostess is Jaydee and our sponsor is Create a Smile, who are offering the winner a GC for 12.50 euro (1 stamp set). We have a new Guest Designer for July...Kathy K. from the Purple Princess Diaries Blog!  Also, we have our new Designers joining us for the first time, so today is a very exciting day for all of us as we welcome them!

On to our challenge ~ The theme for this challenge is 'Patriotic' and I have created two cards:

We've had overcast skies for a few days, so I apologize for the poor quality on this photo. I cut the PTI dies with glitter paper, framed the white panel with red and blue cardstock, added the stamped sentiment and stars, and that was it...easy peasy!

It's fun to sometimes use non-holiday images for holiday cards...Hence the motorcycle on my next card (Patriotic/4th of July):

I couldn't wait to play with this new (to me) PTI die to created the road under the motor cycle and used red, white and blue again with a small pop of yellow for the lights. The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn, and the stars from SSS. A touch of Wink of Stella for a little sparkle, and that was it!

Thanks so much for stopping by ~ Have a great weekend,

Deck the Halls with Merry Monday

Hello there blog friends,
I have another quick post to share a card I created for this week's challenge at Merry Monday! I've never played in this challenge before, but when I heard that my super talented and really sweet friend Betty is Guest Designer this week, I just had to play along! And the challenge is to use stripes, polka dots or both on a Christmas card.

Here is my card:

As you can see, I used both. My tree was die cut with Lawn Fawn 'Let's Polka' patterned papers, and the stripes for the background were made with Lil' Inkers 'Stitches and Stripes' die. The sentiment is from MFT, and was embossed with Hero Arts gold embossing powder. The gems are also Hero Arts.

So, that's it for me! I told you it was a quick post :)
I hope everyone is having a great week ~

CAS(E) this Sketch

Hi everyone,
I finally found some time to just 'play' in my craft room, and created a card for this week's challenge at CAS(E) this Sketch. Here is the sketch:

I love the angled panel on the left side of this card, so for my design, I flipped the sketch and created a horizontal card:

I used one of the Landscape Trio dies from Mama Elephant to create the cloud for my angled panel, and Femme Frames for the blue panel. Then, I stamped the images and colored them with Copics, and sponged some white clouds on the soft blue background. I also added Wink of Stella clear glitter to the wings on the cherub and embossed the sentiment with Liquid Platinum. Those tiny stars are from Delish Beads.

I would also like to enter this card into Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge for the theme 'Anything Goes'!

Well, that's it for me...I hope everyone is enjoying the Holiday weekend! Thanks so much for stopping by ~

Exciting News!

Hi Everyone ~
I am so incredibly excited to share my news with everyone...I have been asked to join the Design Team at Addicted to Stamps Challenge Blog ~ Woo-Hoo!!! Over the past year, ATSM has become one of my favorite challenges, so this is really thrilling for me! And..today is the day that Kylie will be announcing the new Design Team on The ATSM Blog ~

We have a wonderful sponsor this week ~ Stamp Art Design by Kathryne, who is offering the winner of this challenge 5 digi stamps of her choice!

And, to celebrate, I inked up my new PTI stamps, and created a card for this weeks’ theme ‘Make Your Mark’:

If you know me at all, then you know how much I love my Copic markers! I colored the flower with a combination that I’ve never used before to create an ombre effect, and since I’ve always loved the font on this set by Waltzingmouse, I thought it would add a touch of elegance to the card. I also used my Femme Frames for a scalloped edge and added a few clear sequins.

I hope you will take a peek at the ATSM Blog to see all the beautiful cards my amazing teammates have created, then take out your favorite coloring tools (pencils, pens, markers) and join in the fun!

Since I used the matching dies for the flower and leaves, I would also like to enter this card in Virginia's View Challenge for the current theme 'Die Cut'!

Thank you so much for stopping by ~

Red & Goldie!

Hi everyone ~
Just a brief post...I have three cards to share with you today. The first card is for this week’s challenge at Addicted to Stamps for the theme 'Make Your Mark’ (I used Copic markers), and for the Addicted to CAS challenge for the code word ‘Texture’:

Did you know that this stamp and die set was designed by JJ Bolton? And that she actually collaborated with her son to create all of these images...How fun is that? JJ talks about it in her post Here and Here.
I used a PTI Impression Plate for the card base, and my MFT ‘Blueprints 13‘ die for the banner (part of a very generous gift from a sweet blog friend).

----------------------------------------------------

My next card is also for the ATCAS Challenge, but for this one, I used the ‘Faux Texture’ technique, which I learned on Jen McGuire’s You Tube video Here

-----------------------------------------------------

My last card is for the Color Challenge at The Card Concept and this week’s challenge at CASology. The Cue Card for this week is ‘Bee’, and this is my very literal interpretation...Check out all the sparkle on that bumble bee ~

So, that’s it for me ~ Thanks so much for stopping by!
