CAS Watercolor and Muse Card Club Challenges

Hi all ~ Even though my mojo is really low right now, I love a good challenge and wanted to play along in a few of my favorites :)

First up is the November CAS Watercolor Challenge for the theme 'Holiday':

My card...

I can't get enough of this holly leaf die, so I started by using distress inks to color the leaves and added splatters with white ink. I embossed the sentiment and mounted everything on a white woodgrain panel and added a few Nuvo Drops for a pop of color...done and dusted!

My 2nd card is for this week's challenge at Muse. Here is the beautiful card Anita created to inspire us:

My take on Anita's card:

This is my new favorite Christmas themed embossing folder, gifted to me by my lovely friend, Michele...it's hard to see the depth of the impression on screen, but in person, it is AMAZING!
So, I embossed the panel and watercolored the holly dies, then fiddled with the sentiment to shape it to fit the banner. A few red gems, and this card was completed.

I focused on Anita's:
- Embossed panel
- CAS Layout

Have a great week, everyone ~ Thanks so much for stopping by,

Happy Pawlidays!

Hi there, blog friends ~
I have two cards to share ...My first card is for Freshly Made Sketches, using this cute little Christmas pup stamp from MFT.

I used Copic markers to color the puppy and added Glossy Accents to the light bulbs. The berries on the wreath were made with Nuvo drops and the die cut sentiment was cut with gold foil. Also, the striped paper is from WRMK...acetate and gold foil...so pretty IRL.

For the past week, I've been hunting through my stash for a sentiment for the CASology cue card (Sorry), and shortly after I finished my first card, I found it! The irony is the pup from my first card works perfectly for this card, so I decided to use it again...hope you don't mind :)

This time I colored the pup in light brown and I also changed the colors on the Christmas tree lights. The brick background was stenciled in grout gray and the sentiment was stamped using MFT Label Maker Sentiments.
That's it for me...have a wonderful week ahead!

Thanks so much for stopping by,

Choose your Muse!

Hi there, blog friends! I have a few cards to share, but before I get started, I have a question:
Does anyone know why my 'foil die cuts' are getting smashed in my Big Shot? I've noticed that the edges sometimes have a crease near the corner, too. Here is an example of what I mean...take note of the letters "g" and "f'':

If you have any thoughts or suggestions, please leave a comment below ~ Thanks!

There’s a birthday party over at Muse Card Challenge for Ardyth, and she has asked us to 'Choose among any of her cards to serve as our Muse'. I found tons of cards that I LOVE in her Pinterest gallery, and this is the one that I decided on:

And, my take on her card:

I focused on Ardyth's design but used more muted colors. Ardyth used her Zig markers, but I didn't have good luck with them so I used DI's. I also used inlaid die cutting and stacked the sentiment with 3 layers.

Belated Happy Birthday to you, Ardyth! You have inspired me so much over the past few years with your gorgeous cards and encouraging words...Thank you! Also, I must say,
"You look amazing at 50...way to go!!!"

My next card is for the CAS on Sunday Challenge and we have been asked to 'Use a Repetition Image' on a card:

I finally bought the Altenew Halftone Circles stamp set and couldn't wait to ink them up. I used the colors of the rainbow and chose a sentiment from PTI Make it Market mini-kit.

My next card is for the current SSS Flickr Challenge #72 and the theme is 'Summer Fun'

A very simple card using the SSS Sailboat Wafer Die and Sailing Stamp set for the sentiment.

If you're still with me, thank you! I have one more card to share, which is not for a challenge. I won a place in the latest Online Card Class - Sparkle & Shine and this is my take on a technique by the AMAZING Laura Bassen!

I used the latest MFT Card Kit for the sentiment. The heart was embossed with four layers of EP and the swirls were created with dye ink. The border is also from MFT, the sprigs and patterned papers are from PTI and the enamel dots are DIY Nuvo Jewel Drops.
Very pretty in real life...Thanks, Laura!!!

OK, so that's it for me...thank you again for hanging in there...I really do appreciate it!

Thanks so much for stopping by...Have a great weekend ~
