October Twofer Card Challenge - Harvest

Hi there blog friends ~ I always enjoy playing along with Darnell's Twofer Challenge and as soon as I saw this month's prompt, 'Harvest', I ordered this cute stamp set from Pretty Pink Posh!

My first card was stamped on Blending Card and colored with Copic markers:

I love all of the images in this set and colored them in autumn colors. To keep it CAS, I added a sentiment with copper embossing powder with a touch of WOS and Glossy Accents on the flower.

For my 2nd card, I wanted to create a monochromatic color palette and stamped the images with cement gray ink on a stone gray panel:

I stepped outside my comfort zone and stamped a few images in a random pattern, then die cut the panel with the stitched scallop border die. I added a scripty sentiment and a few sparkly sequins, and this card was finished.

The rules for the Twofer Challenge are: We can interpret the prompt however it inspires us, but we must use the same stamp or die on both cards and they must be for 2 different occasions.  Here is my photo for the challenge gallery:

Darnell and her team have provided lots of beautiful inspiration on the Challenge Blog, so be sure to check it out...I also have a badge on my sidebar with the rules of the challenge, if you would like to play along...deadline is the 24th!

Have a great weekend ~ Thanks so much for stopping by,

Always & Forever

Hi there ~ I'm back with a quick post to share a card before CASology closes their doors for this weeks' challenge:)

Here is what I came up with...

Hubby and I will be married 44 years in January, so I thought combining the ampersand and sentiment would work well for an anniversary card. I used gold embossing powder for all the stamping, dry embossed a border to create a frame, and added a few gold sequins...and that was it :)

Have a great week, everyone ~ Thanks so much for stopping by,

Addicted to CAS Challenge #147 - Foliage

Hello there, blog friends! It's time for a new challenge at Addicted to CAS! Our Hostess is Stephanie, and she has chosen 'Foliage' as our code word!

I started by masking a vertical panel, then created masks with post-it notes and Lawn Fawn leaf dies, which I sponged using Distress Oxide inks. The 'Thanks' sentiment is from SSS and the 'xo' is from MFT. A few gold sequins and this card was done and dusted :)

Our Guest Designer and my teammates have created some gorgeous cards for this challenge. Stop on over to the ATCAS Challenge Blog to check them out, and play along with us...we would love to see your take on the code word.

Thanks so much for stopping by,

Fusion Card Challenge - Pastel Halloween

Hi there ~ It's time for a new challenge at Fusion. As you know, the fun part of this challenge is that you can use the sketch or the inspiration photo, or both...I decided to go with both for my card ~

What do you do when you're inspired by those cute little ghost cookies in the photo, but don't have any ghost stamps in your stash? You go shopping :)
So, I found these adorable ghosts at Hello Bluebird...(by the way, they have a lot of cute stamps). I colored them with Copic markers and popped them up on my stenciled clouds. I stamped the simple sentiment with Versafine and embossed with clear EP to add a little shine.

I hope you'll join us at Fusion...whether you're inspired by the sketch, the photo, or both, we would love to see your creations in the gallery!

Thanks so much for stopping by,

October CAS Watercolor Challenge

Hello there blog friends! CAS Watercolor Challenge is celebrating their 2nd birthday, and as always, I am excited to play along! For the October challenge, they have chosen a beautiful autumn color palette for us...and here is my take ~

I wanted to watercolor a flower, so I chose this lovely Gerbera Daisy from Winnie & Walter using my brand new liquid watercolors. I also painted a strip of dark green on the left with Glimmer Metallic Ink, and added a touch of Wink of Stella to the center of the bloom...here is a close-up ~

It's a little difficult to see the sparkle on screen, but I love the effect of all the shimmer and flecks of gold in the green metallic ink on the border. I mixed it with a little water and brushed it on...yummy! I'll be adding more colors to my collection asap.

Check out THIS VIDEO by Jen McGuire using the Hero Arts Glimmer Metallic Inks.

Happy 2nd Birthday to Loll, Bonnie and their amazing DT at the CAS Watercolor Challenge!

CASology Challenge #315 - Gratitude

Hi there blog friends ~ I thought it would be fun to play along at CASology this week with this card...

I started with a stitched panel, then created the background with a stencil, but I think I got a little carried away with the circles :) I love the shadow on the thanks die, so I included that along with a stamped subscript. Lastly, I placed the panel on a black card base for a strong contrast...and that was it!
