Enjoy the Adventure

Hi there ~
I haven't played along with CASology in quite a while, and since my mojo has taken flight, I thought it would be fun to kickstart my creativity with their latest prompt ~ Vacation!

I wouldn't mind spending time on a sailboat like this one, especially after the crazy year we've all had.

I started by stamping the waves in two shades of aqua, then die cut the (new to me) sailboat. I embossed the sentiment in gold to match the sails, but I think the flash on my camera is making it difficult to see. I also stamped the seagulls with navy ink to match the boat and card base...and that was it!

Since the sailboat is new, I am also entering this card in Darnell's NBUS Challenge #18.

I hope everyone is doing well and staying healthy! Thanks so much for stopping by,

CASology Challenge - Plant

Hi there, blog friends! I haven't played along with the CASology Challenge in several months, but no more excuses, I am sliding in at the eleventh hour with my entry ~

I love these cute little cacti from MFT! So, I inked them up, colored them with Copic markers, and placed them inside a square frame. Please excuse the glare...it's so hard to photograph foil cardstock. I also stenciled the clouds and placed the planter on a shadow die cut. And, that was it :)

I hope everyone is doing well and staying healthy! Also, some states in the U.S. are starting to relax their guidelines, so I hope that means you are able to get outside and enjoy some nice weather ~

Thanks so much for stopping by,

Welcome, Baby

Hi there, blog friends! Today starts a new challenge at Addicted to CAS ~ The wonderful Angie is our Hostess, and she is challenging everyone to create a card using the Code Word ‘Texture’.

I started by stenciling the clouds with Tumbled Glass DI, then I stenciled the waves by adding Salty Ocean DI to Glitter Gel. For fun, I used the dotted circle and created the aperture with a circle die and blue fun foam which adds dimension. Also, I couldn't resist using the eye with those adorable lashes...here is a close-up of the sparkly texture on the waves.

We would love to see how the code word ‘Texture’ inspires you! If you would like to see inspiration from the Design Team and play along with us, come on over and check out the ATCAS Blog ~

Thanks so much for stopping by,

You Take The Cake

Hi there blog friends ~ It's time for a new challenge at Fusion and this time our prompt is ‘Cake’.  I decided to use the inspiration photo, but instead of a cake or cupcake, I chose this (new to me) sentiment and the color palette for my design...

This cute little mouse was stamped and colored with Copics, then popped up with foam tape to add dimension. I stacked the alphas with 4 plain white layers, then finished with the colors from the inspiration photo. I also included a strip of gold foil which is wrapped around the cake in the photo. And that was it :)

Don't forget the best thing about the Fusion Card Challenge is that you can choose between the sketch and the theme/inspiration photo, or both! My teamies have created some beautiful cards to inspire you, so feel free to stop by the challenge blog and play along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by,

Twofer Challenge - Spring Animals

Hi there, blog friends! I'm sure you know by now that Darnell's Twofer Challenge is one of my all-time faves, and when I saw her prompt for this month, I couldn't wait to grab my stamps and ink so I could play along ~

As I perused my stash, I came across this adorable set of sheep by MFT...

It's always nice to have an encouragement card on hand...I kept the design very simple and did a little coloring with my Copic markers. I also stenciled some clouds in the background and added a scalloped frame.

______________________________________

For my 2nd card, I blended Tumbled Glass ink softly from the top down and used my new Funky Fossil Designs stencil for the grass. I placed the sheep slightly above the loose grass and for fun, I included a black sheep coming up from behind :)

And, here is the photo of both cards:

You have until the 24th to join in the challenge...just don't forget the rules:

Stay safe and healthy, everyone! And don't forget to wash your hands...A LOT!!!

CAS Stencil Challenge Reminder

Hello friends!  Just a reminder that there is still time to link up your card for the March CAS Stencil Card Challenge
Viv is hosting this month and she is challenging everyone to use ‘Heat Embossing’ with your stencils. As always, there are several links to techniques over at CAS Stencil Blog for your inspiration.

After a few failures, I found that using a make-up sponge works well to apply Versamark to this pattern. Once I got a clean impression, I sprinkled embossing powder and heat to set. I love the shine from heat embossing...it's too bad I'm unable to capture it on screen. Next, I die cut the bunny on the front of the card and stamped her on the inside, then colored with Copic markers. A few sparkly gems and a sweet sentiment, and this card was complete :)

There's lots of Design Team inspiration over at CAS Stencil Blog as well as from our super talented  Guest Designer, Cat ~ And, don't forget there are also links to video tutorials. You have until the 24th to link up your card...I hope to see you there!

Thanks so much for stopping by...I really appreciate your visits!
Stay safe, be smart, and please don't forget to wash your hands :)

Hello Sweet Friend

Hi there blog friends ~ It’s time for our March challenge at CAS Stencil! Our Guest Designer is the incredibly talented ‘Cat’ from Cat Luvs Paper and our Hostess for this challenge is Viv, who chose ‘Heat Embossing’ for our prompt ~

I’ve tried several techniques with my stencils, but this is the first time I used my embossing powders and I have to say that I really had fun with it ~  I started with my powder tool then applying Versamark to the stencil before sprinkling embossing powder to the wildflowers. I heat embossed the sentiment with gold EP and die cut 'hello' with gold cardstock.

I hope you'll grab your stencils and come join us at the CAS Stencil Challenge Blog for this unique challenge! Our GD Cat and my teamies have created some beautiful cards to inspire you...and don’t forget we always have links to a few video tutorials showcasing the technique for each challenge. I hope to see you there ~ the challenge closes on the 24th.

Hello There!

Hi there blog friends ~ It's time for a new challenge at Fusion and this time our prompt is ‘Decor’. I decided to go with the sketch this time...

I started by inking this NBUS flower from SSS and bottom half of the background with distress inks (picked raspberry, spun sugar, twisted citron). I spritzed the flower with Sheer Shimmer Spray, and the upper half was embossed with my fave Textured Impressions folder, however, both are difficult to see on screen. A simple sentiment and a few sparkly gems, and that was it ~

Don't forget the best thing about the Fusion Card Challenge is that you can choose between the sketch and the theme/inspiration photo, or both! My teamies have created some beautiful cards to inspire you, so feel free to stop by the challenge blog and play along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Twofer February Challenge - Fruit

Hello there, blog friends! The Twofer Challenge is one of my all-time favorites, and I'm so happy when I'm able to play along. This month, Darnell has chosen the prompt 'Fruit', so I grabbed my 'Squeeze the Day' stamp set and got busy :)

I started my birthday card by embossing the fruit images on a dark gray panel using silver embossing powder, which I also used for the sentiment on light gray. I added a few clear sequins, and this CAS card was complete!

The rules are that we create 2 different designs for 2 different occasions using the same stamps, stencils and/or dies...so my 2nd card is for a sweet friend ~

I can't remember the last time I used this much patterned paper on a card, so I just had fun with it :) I colored the fruit with Copic markers, then added the scalloped border and a few enamel dots...and that was it!

Here is  a photo of my cards side-by-side ~

You have until the 24th if you would like to play along...the Twofer DT have a lot of beautiful cards posted on the blog to inspire you!

You Take The Cake

Hi there, blog friends! Today starts a new challenge at Addicted to CAS  ~ Susan is our Hostess, and she is challenging everyone to create a card using the Code Word ‘Cake’ ~  Also, we have the incredibly talented Ma-Mi as our Guest Designer for this challenge!

I love this series by Julie Ebersole...the images are spot-on for the theme and the set includes lots of little stamps for different occasions. I masked her hand then stamped the cake. Then, I colored the Baker Lady and cake with Copic markers and added Glossy Accents to the frosting...a sweet little sentiment and thin black border, and this card was done!

We would love to see how the code word ‘Cake’ inspires you! If you would like to see inspiration from the Design Team and play along with us, come on over and check out the ATCAS Blog  ~

Don't forget the best thing about the Fusion Card Challenge is that you can choose between the sketch and the theme/inspiration photo, or both! My teamies have created some beautiful cards to inspire you, so feel free to stop by the challenge blog and play along with us!

Perfectly CAS!

Hi there, blog friends! I hope all of my U.S. friends had a lovely Thanksgiving weekend with family and friends!
There's a new card challenge in blogland, and it's right up my alley ~Perfectly CAS!

I love how they emphasize using one third or less for their criteria and hope I was able to manage it with my design ~

I masked the lower-left corner and blended a few Altenew inks to fade into white, then stamped this sweet little girl, tree, and sentiment. I also added sparkle with my falling snow stencil using glass bead glitter gel. Since this is a 5 x 5.5" card, I'll be creating a custom envelope...

If you love a truly CAS card, check out the Perfectly CAS challenge...Their DT is amazing and I'm looking forward to playing along in the future ~
