Addicted to CAS Challenge #141 - Summertime

Hello again, blog friends! It's time for a new challenge at Addicted to CAS, and this time our code word is 'Summertime'!

I started by stenciling the waves with Salty Ocean, then went over the entire panel with Tumbled Glass. All of the elements were colored with Copic markers with a little sparkle on the flowers and Glossy Accents on the glass.

I also added a few tiny water drops with Glossy Accents...here is a close-up:

We have a super talented Guest Designer for this challenge ~ Gerrina, and as always, Happy Little Stampers is awarding a $20.00 GC to the winner! If you would like to play along, pull out your favorite summertime stamps and dies and submit your card to our gallery

Have a great weekend ~

Thanks so much for stopping by,

July Twofer Challenge!

Hi there blog friends! It's time for Darnell's July Twofer Challenge and I'm loving the theme ~ Beverage! Even though my NBUS pile is overflowing, it was the perfect excuse to buy this MFT stamp and die set that I've been eyeing for a while :)

OK, so the rules are that we create 2 different cards for 2 different occasions, using the same stamps and/or dies. The stamp and die set that I chose is MFT's Soda Pop & Bottles. Here is my first card:

I started this card by applying embossing paste to a concentric circle stencil and used the sketch from the most recent Fusion Challenge for my design. It may be hard to see on screen, so the coke bottle and top banner are chocolate brown.
My sister is a diet coke addict, so this is going off to her attached to a Yankee Candle, just to say hello :)

For my 2nd card, I decided to go with a birthday theme...we can't ever have too many of them, right?

For this card, I inked the bottles with MFT inks in summery colors, stamped the icons and added a vertical border with diagonal striped paper and silver luxe cardstock. A few clear sequins and this card was completed :)
Here are both cards together (for Darnell's gallery):

I always enjoy playing along with Darnell's challenge and we have until the 24th if you're interested in creating a few cards!

Thanks so much for stopping by,

Fusion Card Challenge - Outdoor Room

Hi there ~ It's time for a new challenge at Fusion, and this time our theme is 'Outdoor Room'! This time I went with the sketch:

I took some creative liberty with the sketch, so I hope it's ok with the team :) The faerie is new to me, and I thought it would be fun for her to be trying to catch the butterfly. I used several gel pens to add a pop of color and gold EP on the sentiment to match the faerie...

The best thing about the Fusion Challenge is that you may choose the sketch, the inspiration photo, or both to create your card! My teammates have created some fabulous cards to inspire you, so feel free to stop by the challenge blog and play along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by,

CAS Christmas & CAS Mix Up July Challenges

Hi there, blog friends ~
If you're a frequent visitor to my blog, you know how much I enjoy playing along with Loll and Bonnie's challenges...well, today I'm sharing a few cards I created for the CAS Christmas Challenge and CAS Mix Up Challenge ~

When it comes to flowers, I always look to Altenew and sure enough, their Poinsettia is perfect ~

There are four steps to this bloom, which I stamped with Hero Arts ink cubes. I spritzed sheer shimmer spray on the flowers and leaves and added Prills to the center of the flower. The leaves were a birthday gift from Loll (thank you again!).

Here is a close-up of the Prills...it's too bad the shimmer doesn't photograph well:

My 2nd card is for the CAS Mix Up Challenge - Color our die cuts, stamping and our choice.

I used alcohol inks to color the die cut 'Color Drops' and after I stamped the sentiment, I added clear embossing powder (my choice) for dimension. A very simple card, but I love the effects of the alcohol inks when the colors blend...so pretty!
So, that's it for me...I hope everyone is having a great week ~

Addicted to CAS Challenge #140 - Baby

Hi there ~ It's time for another challenge at Addicted to CAS and this time our code word is 'Baby'! Also, for this challenge, we are thrilled to have Jen Mitchell as our Guest Designer!
I don't have a need to create many baby cards, so I grabbed my Altenew alphas and created this card:

I thought the blue and white gingham papers would work well for a baby card and to add a little charm, I placed it inside the stitched scalloped frame. Lastly, I placed it on a stone gray card base and just for fun, I popped on the little bird, and that was it :)

We would love to see your baby cards...so, if you have the time, stop over at the ATCAS Challenge Blog and join us!
Thanks so much for stopping by,

July CAS Watercolor Challenge, Muse Card Club

Hello again, blog friends! I'm playing along with a few challenges, so I'm back to share my entries...My first card is for the July CAS Watercolor Challenge, and the theme is 'Splash Watercoloring'.

I started by watching Loll's Video on the Splash Watercoloring technique, and I was so happy that it looked like an underwater scene. I wanted to keep it CAS, so I added one of my NBUS Mermaids reaching for a sparkly sequin...and that was it - no foliage or schools of fish :)
I am also entering this card in the current CAS on Friday Challenge for the theme 'Watercolor'.

********************************

My 2nd card is for this week's challenge at Muse Card Club, where Anita created this beauty to inspire us:

I really love Anita's card...to the extent that I actually CASE'd it!

I used the same Distress Inks except I didn't splash it with water and I used a different bloom. No imagination here, guys...but you know what they say...'Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery'!

Thanks so much for stopping by,

Fusion Card Challenge - Cactus Door

Hi there blog friends ~ It's time for a new challenge at Fusion and this time our prompt is 'Cactus Door'. I was excited to receive a beautiful cactus stamp set as a birthday gift from my sweet friend, Michele, and couldn't wait to ink it up!

On a stitched panel, I colored everything with Copic markers. I tried to blend different colors on the cacti, but I'm not sure if I was very successful...more practice is needed, for sure! I added a few clear gems, and that was it :)

Don't forget the best thing about the Fusion Card Challenge is that you can choose between the sketch and the inspiration photo, or both! My teamies have created some amazing cards to inspire you, so feel free to stop by the challenge blog and play along with us!
