Addicted to CAS Challenge - Ombre'

Hi there, blog friends! Today starts a new challenge at Addicted to CAS. As Hostess, I’m challenging everyone to create a card using the Code Word Ombre’.
Our Guest Designer is Hannelie (winner of challenge #154).

I've been doing a lot of stenciling lately and thought it would be fun to use this SSS stencil for this challenge ~

I used Picket Fence Life Changing Brushes to apply 3 shades of ink to the leaves and I stamped the sentiment with the darkest shade in this set. The butterflies are from an old Memory Box die...and that was it!

We would love to see how the code word Ombre’ inspires you! Come on over to the ATCAS Blog and check out all the beautiful (and fun) cards my teammates have created, and play along with us :)

Thanks so much for stopping by,

Darnell's Twofer Challenge

I'm running way behind this month but no matter what, I had to play along with one of my all-time favorite challenges ~ Darnell's Twofer Challenge! I'm not clever enough to create a non-conventional card, but I did have fun with my Lil' Inkers balloon die :)

For my first card, I used my newest MFT stamp set 'Sweet Friends' and colored her with Copic markers. I added the cloud die cut and softly stenciled clouds behind the little girl. Lastly, I stamped the little blades of grass and sentiment...and that was it!
Now, we can't forget the rules of the challenge...

I used the same Lil' Inkers balloon die and created this card:

With silver EP, I stamped "Make a" and used patterned paper for the die cut alphas. I love this cute little birthday bird, and couldn't resist adding him to the design. I added a stitched border, and this card was done and dusted :)
Here is the photo for Darnell's Challenge Blog

Be sure to check out all the great cards by Darnell's Design Team and play along if you can...the challenge closes on the 24th!

Thanks so much for stopping by,

Fusion Card Challenge - Create

Hi there blog friends ~ It's time for a new challenge at Fusion and this time our prompt is ‘Create’. This time I used the inspiration photo for my card ~

I was inspired by the word 'Create' on the wall and the wooden chair for the handle on the paintbrush.
I started by stenciling and splattering the background, then used a piece of an alcohol inked panel for the die cut word. I added a simple stamped sentiment and die cut paintbrush for fun :) To add a little contrast, I placed the wonky stitched panel on a grout gray card base ~

Don't forget the best thing about the Fusion Card Challenge is that you can choose between the sketch and the inspiration photo, or both! My teamies have created some beautiful cards to inspire you, so feel free to stop by the challenge blog and play along with us!

Thanks so much for taking a few minutes out of your day to stop by,

So Happy Together - March CAS Stencil Challenge

Hi there blog friends ~
I'm stopping in today with a reminder...there is still time to play along with our challenge at CAS Stencil.

For the sunburst stencil, I used three shades of yellow distress ink with Loll's Ghosting Technique that she shares in her video tutorial. So sorry if it looks very bright on your screen...they're actually really soft shades of yellow in person. I colored the owls and branch with Copic markers, popped them up with foam tape and added Glossy Accents to the hearts before stamping the sentiment.

Be sure to check out the CAS Stencil challenge blog to see all the beautiful reminder cards that my teamies (and our Guest Designer, Ishani) created using the Ghosting Technique! The challenge ends on the 24th, so there is still time to play along!

Addicted to CAS Challenge #155 - Green

Hi there, blog friends! Today starts a new challenge at Addicted to CAS! Our Hostess is Stephanie and she is challenging everyone to create a card using the Code Word ‘Green’.

For this challenge, I thought it would be fun to play with this super cute turtle ~

I started by embossing the background with a textured embossing folder, then die cut the stitched hill, colored the images with Copic markers, and added a googly eye (with lashes) on the turtle. After adding a few accents on the images, I used Glossy Accents on the flower center and bird's beak. A quick and CAS card...or as Darnell calls it QACAS :)

We would love to see how the code word ‘Green’ inspires you! If you would like to check out inspiration from the Design Team, and play along with us, visit the ATCAS Blog

Fusion Card Challenge

Hi there blog friends ~ It's time for a new challenge at Fusion and this time our prompt is ‘Mint’

I love mint green, but I don't have the proper ink colors, so I went with aqua. I decided to go with elements on the inspiration photo, namely the pretty feather in the top right corner. I started by embossing the feather die, then lining up the stamp using 3 shades of ink to create an ombre' effect, like the yarn at the bottom of the photo. To add texture, I embossed the sentiment and accents on the feather with gold EP.  Here is a close-up of the impression that was created by dry embossing the feather ~

Don't forget the best thing about the Fusion Card Challenge is that you can choose between the sketch and the inspiration photo, or both! My teamies have created some beautiful cards to inspire you, so feel free to stop by the challenge blog and play along with us!

March CAS Stencil Challenge - Ghosting

Hi there ~
It's time for the next challenge at CAS Stencil! Julia from Create with Me is our Hostess for the month of March, and she has chosen the 'Ghosting' technique for our stencils! Our Guest Designer is Ishani who was our Top Pick for January!
I used Loll's video tutorial (listed on the challenge blog), grabbed my stencils, distress inks and Mixed Media paper and got right to work ~

I sponged the Feathered Leaves stencil with distress inks and applied the ghosting technique. While the panel dried, I die cut the poppy twice, arranged them, then added a few sparkly sequins. Lastly, I stamped the sentiment from MFT Greetings Galore...and that was it!

The challenge is open until the 24th, so you have plenty of time to join us. And, if you have never tried 'Ghosting' don't forget that there are a few videos on the Challenge Blog, which are very helpful.
