Love You

Hi there, blog friends! Today starts a new challenge at Addicted to CAS ~ Ceal is our Hostess, and she is challenging everyone to create a card using the Code Word ‘Rainbow’. Our very special Guest Designer is Hannelie and she has created a gorgeous card for this challenge!

I channeled my inner 'Laura Bassen' for this prompt...here is my card:

I started by creating a mask with a heart die, then used my drifts/hills stencil with a rainbow of distress inks to create the pattern. It's hard to see on screen, but I used black metallic cardstock for the die-cut word, and it looks amazing in person!

We would love to see how the code word ‘Rainbow’ inspires you! If you would like to see inspiration from the Design Team, and play along with us, come on over and check out the ATCAS Blog  ~

Thanks so much for stopping by,

October CAS Stencil Challenge

Hi there blog friends ~ It’s time for a new challenge at CAS Stencil! Our Guest Designer is Gundi and our Hostess for October is Loll, who has chosen ‘Patterned Paper’ for our technique.

Funky Fossil Designs Stencils have become a real favorite of mine, so I chose one of my newest stencils called 'Beauty in Profile' for this card. Because it's such a large image, I kept my design very simple...I sponged it with Tumbled Glass DOX ink, then sprayed the image with Shimmer Spritz to add sparkle. I added a few clear gems and the sentiment. I apologize for the small font on the embossed sentiment...it says: {Love} 'you so much'. Lastly, I matted the striped paper to a grout gray base, and this card was complete!

I rarely use patterned papers, and I really enjoyed playing with them for this project ~ There's lots of Design Team inspiration over at CAS Stencil Blog  - as well as from our talented Guest Designer, Gundi ~ And, don't forget there are also a few links to video tutorials. You have until the 24th to link up your card...I hope to see you there!

Thanks so much for stopping by,

You WOW My Heart

Hi there ~ When I saw the cue card for this week's CASology Challenge, I knew that I had the perfect stencil, which is from Sarah Gray's (Funky Fossil Designs) Folksy Shop called "Elegant Lady"...Thank you, Sarah!

This is a large stencil, so my card is 6.5 x 7.5". I've decided to frame it and send it to my step-granddaughter, who is a grad school student...I think she'll like it!
I used distress inks for the stencil and added the stamped sentiment from MFT and the die cut word (also inked with DI's) from Reverse Confetti. I also added sparkle by spraying Sheer Shimmer Craft Spray before lifting the stencil, and to the die cut...very pretty IRL. Lastly, I placed a few clear sequins and slapped my hand before I added too many, keeping the design truly CAS!

I would also like to enter this card in the challenge over at Addicted to Stamps & More for the theme 'CAS'

So, that's it for me...I hope all of my U.S. blog friends had a wonderful Thanksgiving, and I hope everyone is taking advantage of all the great Black Friday sales :)

Thanks so much for stopping by,

Addicted to CAS Challenge #119

Hi there blog friends ~ It's time for a new challenge at Addicted to CAS and Doni has chosen our Code Word:

As summer comes to a close, I start thinking about all the wonderful fruits and veggies I enjoy during autumn and apples are at the top of my list ~

I wasn't sure if I liked this card after I added glossy accents to the apples, so I created a new one, and this time I used a lighter red ink and Shimmer Spritz ~

Maybe it's the screen on my pc, because, in person, the shimmer spritz is very pretty :)

A few weeks ago, the winner of our challenge, Sweet Kobylkin (Ksenija), created three really cute cards using this partial die cutting technique on the border of her cards. As soon as I emailed her about being our Guest Designer, I asked if I could CASE her fun design...she said yes, and here we are :)

This is how I created this card:
- I started by drawing a pencil line where the fold would be. (I did not fold the card yet).
- I lined up the apple die (beginning in the center working outward) and partially die cut each one.
- I erased the pencil line and stamped the apples and stems.
- Lastly, I placed the card on my score board and scored in between each apple, folded the card, and added glossy accents to each one.
***The card is now 5" tall by 5 1/2 wide, so I created my own envelope.

My teamies have created some really fabulous cards for this challenge and we would love to have you join us! Create a Smile is our Sponsor and they are offering a gift card for 15 Euros to the winner of this challenge!
Ingredients:
Stamps: PTI: Fruit Fusion; Reverse Confetti: Sentiment
Dies: Reverse Confetti - Sentiment
Inks: Versamark; MFT - Cherry Crisp; SSS - Hot Lips; Catherine Pooler - Grass Skirt
Misc:  Hero Arts - Silver EP; Lucy Cards - Sequins; MFT - Silver Foil C/S; Glossy Accents; Shimmer Spritz

Thanks so much for stopping by,

Hello, Sweet Friend ~ You're So Sweet!

Hello there, blog friends! I'm back to share two cards I created for a few of my favorite challenges. First up is the CAS Watercolor and CAS Mix Up Challenges.

So, it's a Butterfly for CAS Watercolor and Stamping, Tissue Paper, and stenciling for CAS Mix Up!

Last week I submitted a card for both challenges, and I created a few extra panels using the Tissue Paper Technique. For this card, I used one of those panels to die cut the butterfly, and I love how it turned out! Check out Loll's video tutorial ~ It's a lot of fun and the results are amazing ~
- Stamping: Sentiment
- Tissue Paper: Butterfly
- My Choice: Stenciling

By the way, if you haven't played along in these challenges you're missing out! Loll and Bonnie always come up with the most interesting and 'challenging' ideas...Check them out!

My 2nd card is for CAS(E) This Sketch and CAS on Friday Challenges (Primary Colors):

CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge #204; Tag You’re It Challenge #63

Hello again, blog friends ~ There's nothing like a few fun challenges to get your mojo going, right? Well, I'm back to share a few cards that I created to play along ~ The first one is CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge #204 with this beautiful sketch by N@ Ali

Here is my take on the sketch:

I created a mask with the largest MB Heart die, then used several distress inks and Copic Opaque White paint with Chipped Sapphire for the splatters. I love the font on this sentiment, so I stacked it with 4 layers, and finished off the card with a few clear sequins.

Karin Akesdotter is the Featured Artist for the current Tag You’re It Challenge and she has created this adorable tag to inspire us ~

And, here is my tag:

I stamped and die cut this cute little Hedgehog, and blended a few distress inks for the background. I also used Copic Opaque paint, and added the SSS bow with the sparkly enamel dot.

So, that's it for me...I hope everyone's week is off to a great start!

Thanks so much for stopping by,
