Hey There, Pumpkin

Hello crafty friends! Today starts a new challenge at Addicted to CAS  ~ Fran is our Hostess, and she is challenging everyone to create a card using the Code Word ‘Autumn’. Our Guest Designer is Valerie ~

For this 5x7" card, I started by using the MFT Rectangle Mask Stencil and the Fall Friends stamp set. I colored the images with Copic markers, created the polka dots with my Uniball Signo pen, and the grass with MFT Oval Shadows die. My intention was to create a one-layer card, but I smudged the sentiment and didn't want to start over...will I ever learn to stamp it first? Also, the pumpkin looks very dark on my screen...not so in person...sorry about that ~

We would love to see how the code word ‘Autumn’ inspires you! If you would like to see inspiration from the Design Team and play along with us, come on over and check out the ATCAS Blog ~

Thanks so much for stopping by,

Addicted to CAS Card Challenge - Fishy

Hello crafty friends! Today starts a new challenge at Addicted to CAS ~ Jaydee is our Hostess, and she is challenging everyone to create a card using the Code Word ‘Fishy’. Our Guest Designer is the amazing Jen .

I recently bought this free form watercolor stencil and couldn't wait to use it on a card...I used three distress inks to create the water, colored the whale with Copic markers and die cut the net with a new die from a Swedish company called 'Gummiapan'. A puny sentiment and a few clear droplets and this card was complete!

We would love to see how the code word ‘Fishy’ inspires you! If you would like to see inspiration from the Design Team, and play along with us, come on over and check out the ATCAS Blog ~

Addicted to CAS Card Challenge #187

Hi there, blog friends! Today starts a new challenge at Addicted to CAS ~ I am hosting and I'm challenging everyone to create a card using the Code Word ‘One Layer’.

Our wonderful leader, Kylie, is taking a much-needed break, so this is our last challenge in 2020. After a 6 month holiday, we will return in January 2021 ~

What I love about one layer cards is the simplicity of the design...To color the Crocus Stencil, I used Distress Inks and Prismacolor Pencils, then sprayed Sheer Shimmer Spritz to add sparkle. I stamped the sentiment with Versafine ink and embossed it with clear EP.

We would love to see how the code word inspires you! If you would like to see inspiration from the Design Team, and play along with us, come on over and check out the ATCAS Blog ~

Thanks so much for stopping by,

Supplies:

Our Guest Designer is the amazingly talented Deepti ~

I love this stencil, so of course I had to show off the steam and heat coming out of this coffee cup! I tried to create an ombre effect with my inks, then added a touch of clear glitter to the steam...and that was it!

We would love to see how the code word ‘Heat’ inspires you! If you would like to see inspiration from the Design Team and play along with us, come on over and check out the ATCAS Blog  ~

CASology Challenge - Summer

Hi there,
It's been ages since I played along at CASology, so when I saw this weeks' cue card, I grabbed some supplies and got busy ~

I've never gone sailing, even though I live within an hour of the beach, but it sure looks like fun! The next best thing for me is spending time in my craft room with some new stamps and dies, so that's what I did :)

I hope everyone is well and having a fun weekend ~ And, that my U.S. friends are having a meaningful and enjoyable Memorial Day weekend!

Thanks so much for stopping by,

Muse Card Challenge #249

Hi there, blog friends ~
When I saw Tracey's beautiful watercoloring and adorable penguin for Muse this week, I had to play along!

I ruined 4 pieces of Tim Holtz watercolor cardstock trying to re-create Tracey's gorgeous background, and finally gave up ~

Even though my watercoloring attempts failed, I still wanted to create a snowy hill for my bear...So, I masked off the bottom on an angle and ink blended with distress ink. I found a small stamp in the MFT Distress Patterns set and used it to emboss the snow kicking up behind the bear :) Lastly, I added Glossy Accents to the goggles...and that was it!

I focused on Tracey's:
- Snowy Hill/Outdoor Scene
- Embossed Sentiment Strip

Happy 'Hump Day', everybody! I hope you are all having a fun and crafty week ~
Thanks so much for stopping by,

Choose your Muse!

Hi there, blog friends! I have a few cards to share, but before I get started, I have a question:
Does anyone know why my 'foil die cuts' are getting smashed in my Big Shot? I've noticed that the edges sometimes have a crease near the corner, too. Here is an example of what I mean...take note of the letters "g" and "f'':

If you have any thoughts or suggestions, please leave a comment below ~ Thanks!

There’s a birthday party over at Muse Card Challenge for Ardyth, and she has asked us to 'Choose among any of her cards to serve as our Muse'. I found tons of cards that I LOVE in her Pinterest gallery, and this is the one that I decided on:

And, my take on her card:

I focused on Ardyth's design but used more muted colors. Ardyth used her Zig markers, but I didn't have good luck with them so I used DI's. I also used inlaid die cutting and stacked the sentiment with 3 layers.

Belated Happy Birthday to you, Ardyth! You have inspired me so much over the past few years with your gorgeous cards and encouraging words...Thank you! Also, I must say,
"You look amazing at 50...way to go!!!"

My next card is for the CAS on Sunday Challenge and we have been asked to 'Use a Repetition Image' on a card:

I finally bought the Altenew Halftone Circles stamp set and couldn't wait to ink them up. I used the colors of the rainbow and chose a sentiment from PTI Make it Market mini-kit.

My next card is for the current SSS Flickr Challenge #72 and the theme is 'Summer Fun'

A very simple card using the SSS Sailboat Wafer Die and Sailing Stamp set for the sentiment.

If you're still with me, thank you! I have one more card to share, which is not for a challenge. I won a place in the latest Online Card Class - Sparkle & Shine and this is my take on a technique by the AMAZING Laura Bassen!

I used the latest MFT Card Kit for the sentiment. The heart was embossed with four layers of EP and the swirls were created with dye ink. The border is also from MFT, the sprigs and patterned papers are from PTI and the enamel dots are DIY Nuvo Jewel Drops.
Very pretty in real life...Thanks, Laura!!!

OK, so that's it for me...thank you again for hanging in there...I really do appreciate it!

Thanks so much for stopping by...Have a great weekend ~
