Fusion Card Challenge - Kindness

Hi there blog friends ~ It's time for a new challenge at Fusion and this time our prompt is Kindness.

I don't get to use my bold background stamps very often, but this one was perfect for the inspiration photo. I heat embossed the pattern with white EP and blended several distress inks in the colors of the rainbow. I stacked the die cut sentiment 3 times for dimension and added a few sparkly sequins ~

Don't forget the best thing about the Fusion Card Challenge is that you can choose between the sketch and the inspiration photo, or both! My teamies have created some amazing cards to inspire you, so feel free to stop by the challenge blog and play along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by,

Reminder - July CAS Stencil Challenge

A quick reminder that we have a really fun technique to use on your cards at the CAS Stencil Challenge...Alcohol Inks/Lift.

I started by adding several colors of alcohol inks to a panel of Yupo Silver Sparkle Paper. While that dried, I die cut the butterfly, then created my own stencil with the flourish die and a piece of acetate. The alcohol lift ink didn't work very well to remove the ink from the panel, so I tried a Copic Colorless Blender Pen and traced the flourish...it worked like a charm! Lastly, I added a few clear gems and embossed the sentiment with silver EP. And that was it :)

I hope you'll check out the CAS Stencil Challenge ~ Our Guest Designer is Janet (Swanlady Impressions), our Hostess Cathy has provided links to several great videos, and my teamies have created some amazing cards to inspire you!

Thanks so much for stopping by,

July Twofer Challenge #18

Hi there, blog friends ~
Today I'm playing along with Darnell's Twofer Challenge  ~ I love playing along with this challenge, so I'm really glad I have a brand new stamp set with lots of beautiful flower silhouettes for my cards.

Sometimes I like to send a card to a friend or family member...Just Because. So for this 5x7 card, I started by masking the hills and ink blending the background in sunset colors with distress oxide inks. Once dried, I stamped the blooms and hills in black. I used my new antique frame and added a simple sentiment.

Unfortunately, not all of our cards are 'happy', so my 2nd card is for someone who needs a few prayers...

For this design, I'm channeling my inner 'Torico' ~
I started this card by ink blending the background with three shades of blue Altenew ink cubes. I used the darkest shade of blue to stamp one layer of flowers, then added a few more with Versamark and white embossing powder. I framed it with the Venice Lace die and dark blue cardstock...and that was it! Here's the photo I used for Darnell's challenge blog:

This is one of my all-time favorite challenges! Darnell always has a fun prompt and I love creating a 2nd card while I have my supplies out. Here are the rules:

Fusion Challenge

Hi there blog friends ~ It's time for a new challenge at Fusion and this time our prompt is Ombre.

I needed a card for my sweet little granddaughter Desi, so I decided to go with the sketch ~

I used one of the MFT Pure Innocence stamps and colored her with Copic markers. To add texture to the image, I soaked a piece of an old washcloth with Copic Colorless Blender and dabbed it on her jean shorts, then popped her up on the scallop oval frame. For the striped panel, I applied 1/8" Scor-Tape and gold Deco Foil.

Don't forget the best thing about the Fusion Card Challenge is that you can choose between the sketch and the inspiration photo, or both! My teamies have created some amazing cards to inspire you, so feel free to stop by the challenge blog and play along with us!

Hi there ~ Happy Independence Day to all of my U.S. friends!

Today starts a new challenge at CAS Stencil and our Hostess, Cathy has chosen Alcohol Inks'Alcohol Lift for our technique...So much fun!

The fish were colored with Copic markers and I added water droplets with Glossy Accents.

The team over at CAS Mix Up are also challenging everyone to use the Alcohol Ink Lift Technique, so I am entering this card to their challenge, too ~

I used the Alcohol Ink Lift technique, stamping and Copic coloring.
