CAS Christmas Card Challenge - Reminder

Hello friends ~ Just a reminder that there is still time to link up your card for the November CAS Christmas Card Challenge. Trina is hosting this month and she has chosen ‘Non-traditional Colors’ for our prompt.

For my non-traditional colors I used distress inks in rainbow order for the die-cut word and stacked it with 2 white die-cuts to add dimension. I used Copic markers to color the holly aqua and placed everything onto a navy blue stitched panel. It was fun using colors other than green & red or silver & blue...Thanks to our brilliant Trina for such a great idea :)

My teamies have created some beautiful cards to inspire everyone ~ Come on over to the Challenge Blog to check them out, and play along with us if you like! You have until the 24th to submit your card!

Thanks so much for stopping by,

November CAS Christmas Challenge

Hi there, blog friends! It’s time for the November challenge at CAS Christmas. Our Hostess is the amazing Trina and she has chosen ‘Non-traditional Colors’ for our prompt. Our Guest Designer is Vicky from Crafting Clare's Paper Moments.

My all-time favorite color combo is pink and gray, so this was a no-brainer for me...I started this 5x7 card with the PTI Linen/Canvas Cover Plate on white cardstock to provide contrast and texture. The wreath and berries are from MFT and I chose the sentiment from Reverse Confetti. To finish I added Glossy Accents to the berries...and that was it!

We hope you’ll stop by the Challenge Blog and check out all the beautiful Christmas cards by our DT and Guest Designer. The challenge ends on the 24th, so you have plenty of time to play along with us. Since the holiday season is nearly upon us, this is a great way to add some unique cards to your Christmas card stash! I hope to see you there ~

Thanks so much for stopping by,

October Twofer Card Challenge #32

Hi there, blog friends! Before Darnell closes the doors, I'm adding a few cards to her October Twofer Card Challenge, which is one of my all-time favorite challenges...Once I have my supplies out, I enjoy using them to create a 2nd card, and she always has a great prompt :)
Here are the rules:

My first card is for a close family member who is going through a rough time right now.

I stamped the silhouette flowers with Versafine Onyx Black ink and embossed with clear EP. Lastly, I stenciled the grass, added a sentiment, and mounted the panel on a black card base...and that was it!

I love color blocking so for my 2nd card I used white EP on colored cardstock.

Once I cut the colored cardstock with my paper trimmer, I used my Corner Chomper on the opposite corners of each one. The 'Smile' die-cut is stacked with 3 layers of white cardstock to add dimension.

Here is the photo of both cards for the Twofer Challenge Blog:

I hope you are all safe and doing well! Thanks so much for stopping by,

I hope everyone is doing well and staying healthy...2020 has definitely been the most challenging year in my memory! Take care and thanks so much for stopping by ~

Happy Birthday, Nancy!!!

Hi there, blog friends! Loll Thompson is hosting a Linky Party for Nancy Littrell who is celebrating a milestone birthday. Happy Birthday, Nancy!!! I'm excited to be joining everyone for the celebration and will be sending this card off to her in the mail ~

I rarely create floral cards, but I couldn't resist these beautiful blooms from Altenew. I used their inks - 2 shades of pink and 2 shades of green, then I heat embossed the sentiment in gold EP.

Loll's Linky Party will be open for 2 weeks, and all are welcome!

Happy, Happy Birthday to you, Nancy! May all of your birthday wishes come true!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by,

Supplies:
Stamps: Altenew - Wildflower Garden; MFT - Happy Hummingbirds (sentiment)
Misc: Simon Says Stamp - Ultra Fine Gold Embossing Powder; Altenew - Enamel Dot (Heart), Navy Cardstock; Papertrey Ink - Vellum

Enjoy the Adventure

Hi there ~
I haven't played along with CASology in quite a while, and since my mojo has taken flight, I thought it would be fun to kickstart my creativity with their latest prompt ~ Vacation!

I wouldn't mind spending time on a sailboat like this one, especially after the crazy year we've all had.

I started by stamping the waves in two shades of aqua, then die cut the (new to me) sailboat. I embossed the sentiment in gold to match the sails, but I think the flash on my camera is making it difficult to see. I also stamped the seagulls with navy ink to match the boat and card base...and that was it!

Since the sailboat is new, I am also entering this card in Darnell's NBUS Challenge #18.

I hope everyone is doing well and staying healthy! Thanks so much for stopping by,

Supplies:
Stamps: Papertrey Ink - Ahoy

This lovely Christmas Tree stencil was a gift from my dear friend, Loll...I think she must have known that I would love the swirls in the design. Thanks, Loll! I used DOX inks and blended Squeezed Lemonade with Fossilized Amber to create gold for the star. Once dry, I added sparkle with Glimmer Paste...and that was it!

Reminder - August CAS Christmas Challenge

Hello friends!  Just a reminder that there is still time to link up your card for the August CAS Christmas Card Challenge. Susan is hosting this month and she has chosen ‘The Twelve Days of Christmas’ for our prompt.

Since I only had one stamp set for this prompt and used it for my first card, my sweet friend, Michele stamped these adorable French Hens and popped them in the mail to me...Thanks, Michele! I love that they're sipping a glass of wine...so cute :)  I stenciled grass, which you can't see because their bums are too wide and sun rays to add brightness to the design. I was determined to keep this card simple, so I colored the hens with Copic markers, fussy cut them, and added a fun sentiment...and that was it!

My teamies have created some fabulous cards to inspire everyone ~ Come on over to the Challenge Blog to check them out, and play along with us, if you like! You have until the 24th to submit your card!

August CAS Christmas Challenge

Hi there, blog friends! It’s time for the August challenge at CAS Christmas. Our Hostess is Susan and she has chosen ‘The Twelve Days of Christmas’ for our prompt...also, our fabulous Guest Designer is  Meg from Bits and Pieces.

I found this really old stamp set in my stash and did a google search for turtle doves...They're mostly grayish/white, but they fan out their tails much like a peacock...so colorful! No need to add color to this pair since their tails are closed. Anyway, I kept the design very simple with an oval stencil and a few branches, then I stamped the sentiment with dark gray ink.

We hope you’ll stop by the Challenge Blog and check out all the beautiful Christmas cards by our DT and Guest Designer...the challenge ends on the 24th, so you have plenty of time to play along with us. It's a great way to get started on your Christmas cards!

Fusion Card Challenge - Summer

Hi there blog friends ~ It's time for a new challenge at Fusion and this time our prompt is ‘Summer’.  For my card, I chose to go with the sketch and the color palette from the inspiration photo...

I love all the sweet treats in the photo, especially in the summertime, so I grabbed this retired SSS set, inked it up, colored each image with Copic markers, then sprayed them with clear shimmer spritz to add sparkle.  I added the (new to me) layered die-cut sentiment and rounded the lower corners of the card...and that was it!

Don't forget the best thing about the Fusion Card Challenge is that you can choose between the sketch and the theme/inspiration photo, or both! My teamies have created some beautiful cards to inspire you, so feel free to stop by the challenge blog and play along with us!

I am stepping down from the team, so this is my last card for the Fusion Challenge. I would like to say 'Thank You' to Karren and her really fabulous team for having me...It's been a real honor creating alongside such a talented group...Thank you all!!!

July Twofer Challenge - Butterflies

Hi there,
It's time for the July Twofer Challenge and as the conventional winner of the May Challenge, I am honored to be one of the Guest Designers! Thank you, Darnell! The prompt for this month is 'Butterflies' but first, let's go over the rules:

One of the things I enjoy most about this challenge is that I have two cards when I'm finished....Here is my first card:

I love the contrast of bright colors against black, so I used Copic markers in a rainbow pattern and framed the butterfly with a thin silver foil die-cut.

Card #2:

For my 2nd card, I wanted a more airy feel, so I used Brushos to watercolor the butterflies and vellum for the solid background die.

Lastly, a photo of both cards for the challenge blog:

Feel free to check out all the beautiful cards by the Design Team ~ The challenge runs until the 24th, so there is plenty of time to play along.
