The Man, The Myth, The Legend

Hi there ~
This is my first DT card after several months, and I'm excited to also be hosting the July challenge at CAS Christmas

I'm sure you expected to see the man himself, but I decided to add a twist and I used his name and hat for my focal point.

The alphas are from Altenew. I stacked them x3 with cardstock, then topped them with patterned paper. The puny sentiment is from SSS and I think the hat is Impression Obsession, but I'm not sure.

We hope you’ll stop by the Challenge Blog and check out all the beautiful Christmas cards by our DT... The challenge ends on the 24th, so you have plenty of time to play along with us...It’s a great way to add some beautiful cards to your Christmas card stash! I hope to see you there ~

Thanks so much for stopping by,

Addicted to CAS Card Challenge

Hello crafty friends! Today starts a new challenge at Addicted to CAS  ~ Toni is our Hostess, and she is challenging everyone to create a card using the Code Word ‘Feline’.

Sometimes I forget how much I like the effects of embossing paste, so I applied Altenew white EP to the SSS Tiny Dots stencil to create the background for this sweet little kitty. I colored him with Copic markers and framed everything with this MFT stitched sort of wonky square die.
*If you know the name of this discontinued MFT die, please let me know in the comments...Thanks!

We would love to see how the code word ‘Feline’ inspires you! If you would like to see inspiration from the Design Team and play along with us, come on over and check out the ATCAS Blog ~

Thanks so much for stopping by,

Addicted to CAS Card Challenge - Our 9th Birthday Celebration

Hello crafty friends! Today starts a new challenge at Addicted to CAS  ~ Nancy is our Hostess, and she is challenging everyone to create a card using the Code Word ‘Colorful’. Our Guest Designer is Cecile. This is our last challenge for 2021 and we are celebrating our 9th Birthday!

For me, when it comes to color, there's nothing like a good old-fashioned rainbow! I used distress inks on the SSS balloon stencil and added the strings by hand. The sentiment is also from SSS and after adding it, I decided to keep this card extremely CAS.

We would love to see how the code word ‘Colorful’ inspires you! If you would like to see inspiration from the Design Team and celebrate our 9th Birthday with us, come on over and check out the ATCAS Blog ~

Thank you all for your love and support throughout the year...it means the world to me when you stop by and leave a comment ~ Happy Holidays to all!!!

Altenew Ultimate Challenge Blog Hop

Hi there blog friends! Several weeks ago, Kylie (Owner/Manager of Addicted to CAS) asked me to represent our team for the Altenew Ultimate Challenge Blog Hop! Altenew sent each rep 2 stamp sets of our choice, so I have created 2 cards for the hop :)

My first card is ultra-modern and features the Amazing You stamp set, Versatile Vases dies, and Deco Lines Washi Tape. I used linen cardstock for texture and gold foil cardstock for the border.

_______________________________________

Give me a nautical theme anytime, so I grabbed this new set called Seas the Day and got going...I used Versamark and clear embossing powder for the water and blended distress inks to add color. I stenciled the clouds and used a Copic Multiliner to draw the seagull. The ship and little girl were colored with Copic markers and once I added the sentiment, this card was complete!

There are several challenge blogs on the hop and a generous prize being offered at each one :) There are $250. in prizes and winners will be announced on the Altenew blog on September 5th, 2021.

So...hop on over to the Addicted to CAS challenge blog...Kylie will give you the details and links to the participating challenges ~ Good luck, everyone!

CAS Christmas July Challenge

Hi there, blog friends! It’s time for the July challenge at CAS Christmas. Our Hostess is Linda and she has chosen ‘Poinsettia’ for our prompt and our Guest Designer is Sandra from Sandma's Handmade Cards.

I love this graphic Poinsettia without adding the 2nd layer to the design, which would fill in the color. I used ultra fine gold embossing powder for the flower and sentiment, added a few clear gems, then placed the panel on a gold foil card base...and that was it! I love a clean and simple card, but sometimes it's hard to know when to add and when to stop ~ know what I mean?

We hope you’ll stop by the Challenge Blog and check out all the beautiful Christmas cards by our DT and Guest Designer. The challenge ends on the 24th, so you have plenty of time to play along with us. It’s a great way to add some beautiful cards to your Christmas card stash! I hope to see you there ~

Thanks so much for stopping by,

Enjoy the Adventure

Hi there ~
I haven't played along with CASology in quite a while, and since my mojo has taken flight, I thought it would be fun to kickstart my creativity with their latest prompt ~ Vacation!

I wouldn't mind spending time on a sailboat like this one, especially after the crazy year we've all had.

I started by stamping the waves in two shades of aqua, then die cut the (new to me) sailboat. I embossed the sentiment in gold to match the sails, but I think the flash on my camera is making it difficult to see. I also stamped the seagulls with navy ink to match the boat and card base...and that was it!

Since the sailboat is new, I am also entering this card in Darnell's NBUS Challenge #18.

I hope everyone is doing well and staying healthy! Thanks so much for stopping by,

Supplies:
Stamps: Papertrey Ink - Ahoy

This delicate daisy works really well for a CAS card design. I placed a scrap of alcohol inked Yupo paper behind it because I love how the colors swirl and blend. I added a simple sentiment, and that was it!

CAS Stencil May Challenge

Hi there blog friends ~ It’s time for our May challenge at CAS Stencil! Our Guest Designer is the super talented Greta and our Hostess for this challenge is Hilary, who chose ‘Layered Stenciling’ for our prompt :)

I don’t layer my stencils very often, but when I do, I am reminded of the great impact this technique has on a card design.

I started by stenciling the vase in light blue, then placed the mesh stencil over it blending a darker shade of blue to create the pattern. I also created a mask with the MFT shadow die and inked in pale gray to create a base under the vase. I colored the flower and leaves with Copic markers and finished with a pearl gem on the bloom :)

Come on over to the CAS Stencil Challenge Blog ...Our Guest Designer Greta and my teamies have created some beautiful cards to inspire you...and don’t forget we always have links to a few video tutorials showcasing the technique for each challenge. The challenge closes on the 24th, so there's plenty of time to join us...I hope to see you there ~

Fusion Challenge - Rain or Shine

Hi all ~ It's time for a brand new challenge at Fusion and our theme is 'Rain or Shine'! In the U.S., we'll be getting lots of showers over the next several weeks and before we know it, our flowers will be in full bloom!

I was inspired by those 2 adorable little girls in the photo and used the color palette from their raincoats and boots for my rain boots. I popped up the clouds with foam tape and embossed the raindrops in silver. I also thought it would be fun to include a few puddles across the bottom of the card and stamp the sentiment on and off the cloud.

As always, my teamies have created some amazing cards for this challenge...Stop by the Fusion Challenge Blog and check them out and of course, we would love it if you could join us!

February Twofer Card Challenge

Hi there! It's time for the February Twofer Card Challenge and the theme is 'Hearts'! If you're unfamiliar with the Twofer Challenge, the object is to create 2 different designs for 2 different occasions using the same stamps and/or dies...and I LOVE this challenge!

Card #1

I was inspired by my dear friend and DT Gal Anita to create this card, which is to congratulate a friend who recently earned a Master's degree. I inked several heart balloons with dye inks in rainbow order and lined them up using a border die. I then stamped the sentiment and balloon strings, and that was it!

 Card #2

For this birthday card, I began by stenciling soft blue clouds and green hills for this cute little guy. I used the same MFT heart balloons using patterned papers and embossed the sentiment. The little birthday boy was colored with Copic markers, and if you look closely, I used Copic Various Ink with a textured cloth to create the look of denim on his overalls :)

Here are the 2 cards together:

So, there you have it! I hope everyone has a fun and crafty weekend ~ Thanks so much for stopping by,
