'U' Have a Heart of Gold

Hi there, blog friends! Today starts a new challenge at Addicted to CAS ~ I will be Hostess, and I'm challenging everyone to create a card using the Code Word ‘Ombre’. Trina, who always inspires me with her gorgeous cards, is our Guest Designer!

I blended 4 shades of blue ink (Altenew) for the alpha and added texture with the SU embossing folder. Then I heat embossed the sentiment with detail white powder and mounted the panel onto a black card base...Easy peasy, lemon squeezy :)

We would love to see how the code word ‘Ombre’ inspires you! If you would like to see inspiration from the Design Team and play along with us, come on over and check out the ATCAS Blog

Thanks so much for stopping by,

May CAS Christmas Card Challenge - Reminder

Hello friends ~ Just a reminder that there is still time to link up your card for the May CAS Christmas Card Challenge. Christine is hosting this month and she has chosen ‘Foliage & Berries’ for our prompt.

I wanted to use non-traditional Christmas colors for this card so I chose stone gray cardstock for the holly and stems and hot pink for the berries...I know they look red on screen, but I used Copic Marker - RV17 and it's truly hot pink :) I blended the background with Tumbled Glass DOX fading into white and splattered Gouache for a snowy effect. I also spritzed the holly and berries with Sheer Shimmer Spray for a little sparkle. The sentiment is from an old Hero Arts stamp set just because I love the elegant font. And, that was it ~

My teamies have created some beautiful cards to inspire everyone ~ Come on over to the Challenge Blog to check them out, and play along with us if you like! You have until the 24th to submit your card! I hope to see you there ~

Happy Holidays

Hi there, blog friends! It’s time for the May challenge at CAS Christmas. Our Hostess is Christine and she has chosen ‘Foliage & Berries’ for our prompt. Our Guest Designer is Robyn.

I've been shopping at The Greetery lately and I thought this branch and berries die was perfect for our prompt. I used distress inks to watercolor the branch then sprayed it with sheer shimmer spritz and left the outline white. I die-cut the bow (also The Greetery) with white glitter cardstock and used gold embossing powder for the sentiment. Here is a close-up of all the sparkle on the branch.

***************************

I wasn't 100% happy with my card...it just doesn't feel CAS enough. So, I pulled out a stencil, which was a gift from Loll, and I got busy ~

Thanks, Loll! I should have reached for this stencil, to begin with :)
I used distress inks to color the holly, berries and stems then placed a layer of Nuvo Glimmer Paste over the top. I then used gold foil cardstock for the die-cut sentiment and gold embossing powder for the stamped sentiment.

We hope you’ll stop by the Challenge Blog and check out all the beautiful Christmas cards by our DT and Guest Designer...The challenge ends on the 24th, so you have plenty of time to play along with us...It’s a great way to add some beautiful cards to your Christmas card stash! I hope to see you there ~

Thanks so much for stopping by,
