Tracey is our Muse this week, and she is challenging us with this really cute card:

- White sentiment on black

February Twofer Card Challenge

Hi there! It's time for the February Twofer Card Challenge and the theme is 'Hearts'! If you're unfamiliar with the Twofer Challenge, the object is to create 2 different designs for 2 different occasions using the same stamps and/or dies...and I LOVE this challenge!

Card #1

I was inspired by my dear friend and DT Gal Anita to create this card, which is to congratulate a friend who recently earned a Master's degree. I inked several heart balloons with dye inks in rainbow order and lined them up using a border die. I then stamped the sentiment and balloon strings, and that was it!

 Card #2

For this birthday card, I began by stenciling soft blue clouds and green hills for this cute little guy. I used the same MFT heart balloons using patterned papers and embossed the sentiment. The little birthday boy was colored with Copic markers, and if you look closely, I used Copic Various Ink with a textured cloth to create the look of denim on his overalls :)

Here are the 2 cards together:

So, there you have it! I hope everyone has a fun and crafty weekend ~ Thanks so much for stopping by,

February CAS Watercolor Challenge - Heart

Hi there ~ I've been in my craft room most of this week, and I'm finally able to share a card I created for one of my favorite challenges: CAS Watercolor Challenge

I started by die cutting the peek-a-boo heart directly to a white panel and adding the watercolored strips. I used my Koi watercolors for the heart and die cut sentiment, then embossed the stamped sentiment with Hero Arts white EP. A few gems and stitched border, and this card was complete!

Be sure to check out the CAS Watercolor Challenge...Bonnie is the challenge host, and the team has created some really gorgeous cards!
Thanks so much for stopping by,

CASology Challenge - Butterfly

Hi there blog friends! In December, Jen from CASology chose my card as the winner for the cue card 'Gray', and today I am honored to be Guest Designer for the current challenge! The cue card this week is 'Butterfly', and oh, do I love playing with my butterfly stamps and dies :)

Here is my take on 'Butterfly' ~

Beautiful butterflies was one of my first stamp sets from PTI and I don't ink it up often enough. For this card, I decided to add the Fancy Flourishes in pastel pink to highlight the sentiment. I never seem to have a sympathy card on hand when I need it, so I took this opportunity to create this one for future use.

CASology is such a fun challenge...the DT girls are incredibly talented and the cue card is always thought provoking! If you have a chance, stop over there and check it out...I would love to see some of the butterflies you have tucked away in your stash :)

My sincere thanks to Jen for selecting my card and to Melissa for asking me to be the Guest Designer for this week's challenge ~
Thanks so much for stopping by,

Freshly Made Sketches #322

Hi there ~
Just stopping in to share a card I created for this week's challenge at Freshly Made Sketches. Here is the sketch created by Cecile:

I CASE'd a few of the DT girls who used the MFT rectangle Peek-a-Boo Window die...

Instead of die cutting the window, I decided to emboss it to add dimension to the card. I masked off the rectangle and stenciled the grass and clouds and used my Copic markers to color those adorable raccoons. Lastly, I added the PTI sentiment (because I love the font) and a few hearts, and this card was done and dusted :)

Thanks so much for stopping by,

Supplies:
Stamps: MFT - Raving Raccoons
Dies: MFT - Raving Raccoons; PTI - Inspired: Love; Mama Elephant - Confetti (Hearts)
Stencils: MFT - Clouds, Drifts/Hills

These sweet little butterflies need a frame, so I used the polka dot Polaroid from PTI. I masked then blended a touch of Sea Glass ink inside the frame and used Liquid Platinum EP for the sentiment.

Happy Little Stampers is our Sponsor and Kylie is offering a $15.00 gift card for the winner! We hope you'll stop by and play along with us ~

Fusion Challenge - Stained Glass Hearts & an Announcement!

Hello there, blog friends! I am thrilled and honored to share with you that I am the newest DT member for the Fusion Challenge! As you may know, Fusion challenges us to use either the sketch or inspiration photo or both (Fusion) and for my first card I went with a Fusion:

In my feeble attempt to include the 'stained glass' component of the inspiration photo, I created a panel with Peerless watercolors as a background for the Mosaic Heart and for the stitched hearts. I added a stitched border and embossed the sentiment in white on black to ground the design. Lastly, I added a few crystal gems for sparkle, and that was it!

The Design Team girls have created some gorgeous cards for this challenge! Please feel free to stop by the Fusion Challenge Blog to check them out...and of course, we would love it if you would like to play along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by,
