Fusion Card Challenge - Summer

Hi there blog friends ~ It's time for a new challenge at Fusion and this time our prompt is ‘Summer’.  For my card, I chose to go with the sketch and the color palette from the inspiration photo... 

I love all the sweet treats in the photo, especially in the summertime, so I grabbed this retired SSS set, inked it up, colored each image with Copic markers, then sprayed them with clear shimmer spritz to add sparkle.  I added the (new to me) layered die-cut sentiment and rounded the lower corners of the card...and that was it!

CAS Christmas Challenge - Reminder

Hello friends!  Just a reminder that there is still time to link up your card for the July CAS Christmas Challenge . Marcia is hosting this month and she has chosen ‘Nativity’ for our prompt.

Very simple design...I masked off the top portion and blended distress inks to create the background. A few gold splatters, Copic coloring, and a sentiment completes this card.

July Twofer Challenge - Butterflies

Hi there,

It's time for the July Twofer Challenge and as the conventional winner of the May Challenge, I am honored to be one of the Guest Designers! Thank you, Darnell! The prompt for this month is 'Butterflies' but first, let's go over the rules:

One of the things I enjoy most about this challenge is that I have two cards when I'm finished....Here is my first card:

I love the contrast of bright colors against black, so I used Copic markers in a rainbow pattern and framed the butterfly with a thin silver foil die-cut.

For my 2nd card, I wanted a more airy feel, so I used Brushos to watercolor the butterflies and vellum for the solid background die.

Hi there blog friends ~ It's time for a new challenge at Fusion and this time our prompt is ‘Floral Cupcakes’.  For my card, I chose to go with a loose interpretation of the sketch and the color palette on the inspiration photo... 

I thought it would be fun to use this NBUS cover plate for the sketch and these cute little penguins fit perfectly :) Some Copic coloring and an embossed sentiment, and this card was complete.

Joy To The World

Hi there, blog friends! It’s time for the July challenge at CAS Christmas. Our Hostess is Marcia and she has chosen ‘Nativity’ for our prompt...also, our fabulous Guest Designer is Jane! 

Every so often, I like using silhouette stamps on my cards, and I think it was perfect for stamping a nativity scene. I started this 5x7 card by stenciling clouds in the background and sponging a small amount of Antique Linen for the ground. There are several stamps in this set, but I wanted to keep it simple and stamped only the manger and trees. Lastly, I added the sentiment, a few clear gems, and the star which was cut with silver glitter cardstock.
