Addicted to CAS #88 - Midnight

Hello again ~
It's time for another challenge at Addicted to CAS, and this time our Code Word is Midnight! A few details: Our Hostess is Carolyn, and our Guest Designer is Rahmat. Sami Stamps is sponsoring this challenge, and they are offering the winner a $12.00 gift certificate!

Here is my card:

I blended several distress inks for the background, then die cut the New York Skyline from MFT for my focal point, The fireworks and sentiment are from The Ton.

My teammates have created some amazing cards for this challenge...I hope you'll stop by the ATCAS Blog to check them out, and that you'll play along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by,

Hi there blog friends ~ We have a very special blog post for you this week at Addicted to CAS Challenge, but before I go into the details, I want to let you know that Loll is our hostess, and Gerrina is our Guest Designer!

Also, Kylie has given our blog an amazing makeover, and a brand new blog badge...Please feel free to download the new badge for your sidebar and challenge post ~

Addicted to CAS Challenge Blog is celebrating our 3rd Birthday, and we are asking everyone to create a card with dimension. To celebrate this special event, we have several sponsors, who are offering some fabulous prizes ~ Also, winners will be chosen at random!!!

- Happy Little Stampers Prize: $20 gift certificate
- Dee's Artsy Impressions Prize: Balloons & Banners Stamp Set
- A Day for Daisies Prize: $12.00 Gift Card
- Sami Stamp Shop Prize: $12.00 Gift Card
- Clearly Besotted Stamps Prize: £20 e-gift card
- Bugaboo Stamps Prize: 7 Digi's
- Scribbles Designs Prize: 3 Images
- Scrappiness Designs Prize: $5.00 Voucher to the store

In honor of this event, I decided to make two birthday cards:

This is where my MISTI came in handy, because I used three distinct colors to create the ombre effect on this card. To add dimension, I stacked 4 layers of the die cut sentiment, and added a layer of dark gray cardstock to create a shadow. A few gem stones, flowers and a stamped sentiment, and this card was finished!

____________

For my 2nd card, I created three layers of cardstock in white, silver and red, and lined up diagonal strips of bright colored papers in rainbow order, before die cutting the sentiment. The embossed fireworks were part of a gift from a very sweet and generous friend...Thanks again, V!!!

Well, that's it for me today...I hope you'll visit us at the Addicted To CAS Blog to see all of the wonderful inspiration from the Design Team girls, and join us in the ATCAS Birthday Celebration! Have a great weekend,
