Small Card - Big Thank You

Hi there, blog friends! Today starts a new challenge at Addicted to CAS  ~ Raga is our Hostess, and she is challenging everyone to create a card using the Code  Word 'Symmetry'.

Raga's prompt was a real challenge for me, so I searched my stash and decided on my Triangle STAX and Bitty Bears :)

I started with a leftover panel that I created with alcohol inks for the background and colored the bears with Copic markers.  A few enamel dots and a sweet sentiment, and this card was complete!

We would love to see how the code word ‘Symmetry’ inspires you! If you would like to see inspiration from the Design Team and play along with us, come on over and check out the ATCAS Blog ~

Thanks so much for stopping by,

Hello There!

Hi there blog friends ~ It's time for a new challenge at Fusion and this time our prompt is ‘Decor’. I decided to go with the sketch this time...

I started by inking this NBUS flower from SSS and bottom half of the background with distress inks (picked raspberry, spun sugar, twisted citron). I spritzed the flower with Sheer Shimmer Spray, and the upper half was embossed with my fave Textured Impressions folder, however, both are difficult to see on screen. A simple sentiment and a few sparkly gems, and that was it ~

Don't forget the best thing about the Fusion Card Challenge is that you can choose between the sketch and the theme/inspiration photo, or both! My teamies have created some beautiful cards to inspire you, so feel free to stop by the challenge blog and play along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Supplies:
Stamps: MFT - More Essential Sentiments
Dies: SSS - Cosmos Stem
Misc: Stampin' Up - Subtle Dynamic Textured Impressions; Lucy's Jewels, Imagine Sheer Shimmer Spray

Twofer February Challenge - Fruit

Hello there, blog friends! The Twofer Challenge is one of my all-time favorites, and I'm so happy when I'm able to play along. This month, Darnell has chosen the prompt 'Fruit', so I grabbed my 'Squeeze the Day' stamp set and got busy :)

I started my birthday card by embossing the fruit images on a dark gray panel using silver embossing powder, which I also used for the sentiment on light gray. I added a few clear sequins, and this CAS card was complete!

The rules are that we create 2 different designs for 2 different occasions using the same stamps, stencils and/or dies...so my 2nd card is for a sweet friend ~

I can't remember the last time I used this much patterned paper on a card, so I just had fun with it :) I colored the fruit with Copic markers, then added the scalloped border and a few enamel dots...and that was it!

Here is  a photo of my cards side-by-side ~

You have until the 24th if you would like to play along...the Twofer DT have a lot of beautiful cards posted on the blog to inspire you!

Thanks so much for stopping by,

CAS Stencil Card Challenge - Reminder

Hello friends!  Just a reminder that there is still time to link up your card for the February CAS Stencil Card Challenge. I am hosting this month and I’m challenging everyone to use ‘Foil’ with your stencils. As always, there are several links to techniques over at CAS Stencil Blog for your inspiration.

I started by blending distress inks to create the background, then adding transfer gel over my stencil and let it dry overnight. I used gold foil and ran it through my laminator to create the 'warp speed' pattern. I colored the little astronaut with Copic markers, popped him up on the center of the background and placed it behind the octagon frame. Lastly, I added a few tiny stars...Here is a close-up of the foiling:

There's lots of Design Team inspiration over at CAS Stencil Blog - as well as from our talented Guest Designer, Steph ~ And, don't forget there are also a few links to video tutorials. You have until the 24th to link up your card...I hope to see you there!

Thanks so much for stopping by.

You Take The Cake

Hi there, blog friends! Today starts a new challenge at Addicted to CAS  ~ Susan is our Hostess, and she is challenging everyone to create a card using the Code Word ‘Cake’ ~  Also, we have the incredibly talented Ma-Mi as our Guest Designer for this challenge!

I love this series by Julie Ebersole...the images are spot-on for the theme and the set includes lots of little stamps for different occasions. I masked her hand then stamped the cake. Then, I colored the Baker Lady and cake with Copic markers and added Glossy Accents to the frosting...a sweet little sentiment and thin black border, and this card was done!

We would love to see how the code word ‘Cake’ inspires you! If you would like to see inspiration from the Design Team and play along with us, come on over and check out the ATCAS Blog  ~

Love You Lots

Hi there blog friends ~ It's time for a new challenge at Fusion and this time our prompt is ‘Valentine’. I decided to go with the sketch this time and create a Valentine card.

I couldn't wait to ink up this adorable stamp set and chose this little guy and girl cacti and colored them with Copic markers. It's very faint on screen, but I stenciled a few clouds behind them and added the hearts and a sentiment...done and dusted :)

Don't forget the best thing about the Fusion Card Challenge is that you can choose between the sketch and the theme/inspiration photo, or both! My teamies have created some beautiful cards to inspire you, so feel free to stop by the challenge blog and play along with us!

February CAS Stencil Challenge

Hi there blog friends ~ It’s time for our February challenge at CAS Stencil! Our Guest Designer is Steph from My Paper Corner and I am Hostess for this challenge. I chose ‘Foil’ for our prompt :)

I started by creating the background using Transfer Gel, my stencil, and Deco Foil then ran it through my laminator. I decided not to color the flower and leaves and use gold EP and sequins, keeping the design very CAS. I just wish you could see the gorgeous colors on this foil...it's multi-blues and greens with gold, and I really love it! Here is a close-up, which is a little better (I turned off the flash on my camera):

Using foils with stencils is a new technique for me, and I really had fun with it ~ I hope you'll grab your stencils and foils and come on over to the CAS Stencil Challenge Blog, get inspired by my teamies and our GD, Steph, and join us for this unique challenge!

Also, I have posted several video tutorials showcasing different ways to use foil with your stencils on the challenge blog.
