All You Need is Love

Hi there blog friends ~ Today starts a new challenge at Addicted to CAS ~ Sue N. is our Hostess, and she is challenging everyone to create a card using the Code Word ‘Pattern’. Crafty Milka is our Guest Designer ~

I rarely use patterned paper, although I have mountains of it in my stash, so I thought it would be fun to back these chunky alphas with a checked pattern. I used dark blue ink for the sentiment and added a touch of pink on the heart...and that was it ~

We would love to see how the code word ‘Pattern’ inspires you! If you would like to see inspiration from the Design Team and play along with us, come on over and check out the ATCAS Blog ~

And now, I would like to introduce the newest member of our family...

Let it Snow

Hi there, blog friends! Today starts a new challenge at Addicted to CAS  ~ Ceal is our Hostess, and she is challenging everyone to create a card using the Code Word ‘Snow’. Our Guest Designer is Melanie.

This cutie pie is from a fairly new MFT stamp set called 'Pile on the Hugs'. I colored her with Copic markers and splattered white Gouache for a snowy effect. Behind her is falling snow, made with embossing paste and a stencil. To create the ground, I die cut an oval shadow die and used it as a stencil. Here is a close-up of the snow:

I am also entering this card to the CAS Mix Up Challenge for the prompt: 'Splatters'. My apologies...I am unable to download the badge at this time.

Hi there, blog friends! It’s time for the January challenge at CAS Christmas. Our Hostess is Julia and she has chosen ‘Silhouette’ for our prompt. Our Guest Designer is Pat from Colorful Card Creations.

This card took just a few minutes to create...I created the ground using an oval die to make a stencil. Then, I stamped the images and sentiment from WPlua9 and stacked the frame dies in black and white for contrast...and that was it! This is a great card to duplicate for the holidays ~ Quick and easy, CAS design :)

We hope you’ll stop by the Challenge Blog and check out all the beautiful Christmas cards by our DT and Guest Designer...The challenge ends on the 24th, so you have plenty of time to play along with us...It’s a great way to add some beautiful cards to your Christmas card stash! Thank you for being so sweet!

Happy New Year, everyone! I hope you all had a very nice holiday season with family and friends and that 2021 is filled with good health and happiness!

The team at Addicted to CAS has been on an extended break, but we are back with our first challenge of the new year. I am hosting this challenge and the amazing Trina is our Guest Designer. I've chosen 'Emboss' for our Code Word...heat and dry embossing are welcome, so I hope you'll join us!

I have decided to use both heat and dry embossing for my card ~

I started by embossing a 5x5 panel with a textured embossing folder, then die-cutting the Gingko Leaf with an old panel of alcohol inked and foiled cardstock. I heat embossed part of the sentiment and used gold foil cardstock for the word sweet and thin square frame. Here's a close-up of all the texture on the embossed leaf and panel ~

We would love to see how the code word ‘Emboss’ inspires you. If you would like to see inspiration from the Design Team and play along with us, come on over and check out the ATCAS Blog ~

Happy Hummingbirds

Hi there, blog friends! I've been taking a break from blogging and I thought it would be fun to start off the new year by playing along with the challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches.

I needed an anniversary card for my stepson and daughter-in-law and thought these sweet hummingbirds were perfect. I used a cloud stencil for the background and colored the birds with Copic markers. The sentiment was embossed with gold EP and I added a strip of gold foil along each side of the panel...and that was it :)

I just want to take a moment to thank everyone for visiting my blog and for those of you who leave a comment for me...I read and appreciate every one of them...Thank you!
I also want to wish you all a very happy and healthy new year! 2020 has been challenging for all with the Covid - 19 virus and a very intense presidential election here in the U.S. As we turn the page on our calendars to 2021, I hope things will settle down ~
