Fusion Card Challenge - Rainbow Cupcake

Inspiration Photo/Sketch

Hi there blog friends ~ It's time for a new challenge at Fusion and this time our prompt is Rainbow Cupcake.

As you can see, I stepped WAY out of my comfort zone creating this card, but I really like the sketch, and wanted to go with that.

Pink and gray is my all-time favorite color combo, so I decided to use it as opposed to the color palette on the inspiration photo. I started by stamping the polka dot background and used felt to die cut the bloom. I also thought it would be fun to use the Mod Rectangle die for the focal point on this card...and that was it ~

Don't forget the best thing about the Fusion Card Challenge is that you can choose between the sketch and the inspiration photo, or both! My teamies have created some beautiful cards to inspire you, so feel free to stop by the challenge blog and play along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by,

CAS on Friday Challenge - Embossing

Hi there, blog friends ~
I have a card to share for the current challenge at CAS on Friday...and the theme is 'Embossing'!

I started by using my Scor-Pal to score lines every 1/2 inch from behind the panel. I die cut the stitched flowers in 3 shades of pink and when I stamped the sentiment in Versafine ink I embossed it with clear EP to give it a little shine. A few enamel dots and this card was done and dusted :)

Thanks so much for stopping by,

Freshly Made Sketches #284; The Flower Challenge #7

If you know me at all, then you know how much I enjoy playing along in challenges...especially sketch challenges ~ Today I have 2 cards to share, and the first one is for Freshly Made Sketches.

This sketch was designed by my sweet blog friend Karren Johnson so I was really eager to play along.

I created the clouds using MFT cloud dies, colored the bird and owl with Copics and added the sentiment. The sketch is shown as a vertical A2 size, but my card is 5 1/4 x 5 1/2. Good thing I still have some old 6x6 envies in my stash :)

My 2nd card is for The Flower Challenge, which is also a sketch:

I pulled out one of my favorite Winnie & Walter sets and got to work.

I colored the flower and leaves with Copics then staggered the sentiment to create some interest to the card. Inside the aperture, I added PTI vellum polka dot paper, which I believe has been discontinued.

So, that's it for me...I hope everyone has a fun and crafty week ahead ~

Thanks so much for stopping by,

CAS on Sunday Challenge & SSS Flickr Challenge

Hi there blog friends,
The theme for the current challenge at CAS on Sunday is ‘Sentiment’ so I thought it would be fun to play along with some of my new goodies ~

I started by heat embossing the Wavy Coloring Book pattern with white EP, and blended a few DI's in soft pastels. I die cut the sentiment with silver foil cardstock and added the dots with my new silver gelly roll pen. The inside of the card reads: ..."to have you in my life". I'm loving this MFT angled die, so I included that and added a few Sprinkles to finish it off ~ And, that was it!

**************************

I'm also playing along at the SSS Flickr Challenge for the theme "Think Spring!"

I am so ready for spring, and for the flowers to start blooming! So, for this card, I watercolored the embossed Ranunculus flowers with distress inks, and I used my 'Love' die again. A few Rainstones with a stitched border and pink mat, and this card was done!

That's it for me ~ Have a great weekend, everyone! Thanks so much for stopping by,
