Addicted to CAS Challenge Blog is celebrating our 3rd Birthday, and we are asking everyone to create a card with dimension. To celebrate this special event, we have several sponsors, who are offering some fabulous prizes ~ Also, winners will be chosen at random!!!

In honor of this event, I decided to make two birthday cards:

This is where my MISTI came in handy, because I used three distinct colors to create the ombre effect on this card. To add dimension, I stacked 4 layers of the die cut sentiment, and added a layer of dark gray cardstock to create a shadow. A few gem stones, flowers and a stamped sentiment, and this card was finished!

____________

For my 2nd card, I created three layers of cardstock in white, silver and red, and lined up diagonal strips of bright colored papers in rainbow order, before die cutting the sentiment. The embossed fireworks were part of a gift from a very sweet and generous friend...Thanks again, V!!!

Well, that's it for me today...I hope you'll visit us at the Addicted To CAS Blog to see all of the wonderful inspiration from the Design Team girls, and join us in the ATCAS Birthday Celebration! Have a great weekend,

Christmas Tags

Hi everyone ~
I have two Christmas Tags to share, and I'll be entering them into a few challenges:

My first tag is for Tracey McNeely’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags Challenge. I've been inspired every day by all the beautiful tags Tracey has shared with us, and on Day 10, she featured Lawn Fawn. I've been wanting to play along, so I dug out some cute little Lawn Fawn Christmas birds, and created this tag:

I water colored the birds with my Zig Clean Color markers, then added the other elements and sentiment. Behind it, I added a few really soft snow drifts, but you have to look closely to see them...sorry about that!

______________

My next card is for Loll Thompson’s Twelve Tags of Christmas (Mixed Media) Challenge, and for Virginia’s View Challenge - All About Textures:

As you can see, I'm having a little trouble with lighting, so here is a close up of the snowflakes on the background and the hats:

I had a lot of fun playing with textures on this tag. I inked the background with SSS Sea Glass, then added snowflakes with embossing paste and glitter. After I colored the hats, I added some Wink of Stella clear glitter and Liquid Applique. The sentiment is from Hero Arts, and the ribbon and bells are from my stash.

That's it for me today...Thank you so much for stopping by, and I hope you have a really great weekend!
