Freshly Made Sketches #263

Hello again,
I'm back to share a card I created for the current challenge at Freshly Made Sketches. I just bought these fun MFT stitched frame dies, and thought the smallest die would be perfect in place of the circles on the sketch ~

This card is 5x7, so it's a little top heavy, but it was necessary to fit all the rounded squares. Also, I think my granddaughter will get a kick out of all these adorable penguins. I blended the background in different colors to add interest, and used Copic markers to color all of the images...A fun card to create, for sure!

That's it for me today...I hope everyone's week is off to a great start ~

Thanks so much for stopping by,

CAS Watercolor November Challenge; Virginia's View Challenge - Stripes & Plaid

Hello again, Blog Friends! I finally finished my cards for the Caring Hearts Card Drive, and thought I would jump into a few challenges before the doors close ~

This month, the CAS Watercolor Challenge theme is to use text on our card (other than the sentiment). Here is my card:

I was eager to include the copper butterfly (a gift from my sweet friend, Loll), and embossed the text, sentiment and flourish with copper embossing powder. I also watercolored the background with Peerless Watercolors, and created the aperture with my new MFT frame dies. A stitched border to finish it off, and that was it!
The French Script is an old unmarked stamp, and the PTI flourish is not listed in the store at this time, so they are not included in the Inlinkz below.

Last month I missed the deadline, and I'm getting in right under the wire for Virginia's View Challenge. The theme is stripes and plaid, and I couldn't be happier to use some of my PTI striped papers for this card:

I used another new MFT die to create the angle on this card, and watercolored the flower and leaves from my favorite Winnie & Walter stamp set.

That's it for me today...I hope everyone's weekend is off to a great start! Thanks so much for stopping by ~

Giving Thanks Blog Hop!

Hello everyone ~
I am so honored to represent Addicted to CAS in the 2nd 'Giving Thanks Blog Hop & Linky Party' hosted by Shery Russ at STAMPlorations! Shery was incredibly generous by sending stamps, dies and stencils for us to play with, so I used all three on this card:

For this card, I colored embossing paste, applied it to the stencil and watercolored the 'Thankful' die cut. Autumn colors and lots of texture made it perfect for the theme...To express our gratitude!

Here is my 2nd card:

For this card, I wanted to add dimension with inlaid die cuts, which I did on the sentiment. I used Prismacolor pencils for the basket and apples, and added some Glossy Accents to make them shine. It's hard to see the alphas on screen, so I have included a close up ~
