Tomorrow is my sons’ birthday...I just can’t believe my ‘baby’ will be 33! Where does the time go?
I missed last week’s challenge at Less is More for a masculine themed card, but the recipe for this week’s challenge is ‘Metal’, so it actually worked out well. While hunting through some old scrapbooking supplies, I found a package of metal sheets in various shapes, and chose the diamond pattern for the background on my star.
To add even more texture to this card I embossed the red strip with an impression plate, added a few wood veneer stars, which I painted with Mama Elephant pigment ink, and topped with glossy accents. It's really hard to see the texture from the impression plate, but here’s a close-up of the metal sheet behind the star:
Well, that’s it for me...I hope everyone is having a great weekend! Thanks so much for stopping by ~

Happy Birthday to your "baby" Barb, I'm sure he loved his card. Such a cool masculine design, a great find with your embellishment:-)
Wow, Barb, this is a magnificent winning way to use metal on your card!! I went off looking for another challenge that I saw had stars, but now I can't find it, so it must have been an older challenge. In any event, I think it's perfect, perfect, perfect for LIM!! Hugs, Darnell
I remembered, it's Seize the Sketch, but I think you have to hurry if you think it will work. Remember, sketches are there just to get you started, it doesn't have to be literal! Hugs, Darnell

Perfect birthday card for your son, Barb! I love the bold and striking design! You used the metal mesh sheet so superbly!
