Challenge Cards

Hi everyone,
A quick post from me today to share two cards I created for a few challenges. The first one is for Virginia's View current challenge and the theme is 'All Things Distressed'.

Here is my card:

Distressing on my cards is way out of my comfort zone, so I really had to work to create something successful for this challenge. I die cut the notebook paper, scrunched and tore it, then used distress markers to color the little girl. I used Mowed Lawn distress ink for the grass, and inked the edges with Iced Spruce.

My next card is for this week's Muse Challenge. Therese Calvird created this really cute card:

Here is my card:

I can't get enough of these Mama Elephant cutie pies! So, I inked the SSS Ledger Drop Stencil with Hero Arts Soft Granite ink on the card base, and inked the background of the Polaroid with SSS Sea Glass and Audrey Blue inks. Then, I used Pearlescent Embossing Paste with SSS Tiny Dots stencil, stamped the sentiment, and added the silver star sequins. That was it!

I hope everyone has a great weekend ~ Thanks for stopping by,

So many beautiful details here, but the shimmery dots really caught my eye - love the precision and the shine! So glad you joined us at Muse this week, Barb!

Barb, I so love both cards. Great job on the distressing, fab! Your muse card is wonderful as well, lose little dots in the background are such a nice mirroring of your shadowed ones on your base card. Another Fab entry.

Oh both of your cards are so sweet Barb! I have a hard time with anything distressed too. I love a clean new look, but I think you did a wonderful job, and your card is just adorable! The second card is beautiful! I love the way you did the background!! So pretty!! ((Hugs))

I just got this set and haven't even had a chance to ink it up yet.... maybe it's next on my agenda. Your cards really are the cutest Barb and you did so well even though you were 'distressed' lol, this is not a strong point for me either.

Such cute cards, Barb! I am not very good at doing "cute" cards. LOL
