A really quick post to share a few cards I created for a few challenges. My first card is for this week's challenge at CASology, for the Cue Card 'Date', and my second entry for Darnell's NBUS Challenge #3 (never before used stuff). Since my hubby and I are celebrating our 39th wedding anniversary tomorrow, I was inspired to use the phrase 'Date Night'...Here is my card:
And, here is a close-up of the die cut alphas:
Ahem...yes, I was a child bride!
Ok, so I stamped the wine bottle and glasses, then die cut the word night, which I stacked four high to add some dimension to this card. The word 'date' is from the PTI stamp set, Wet Paint II. Since this is a CAS challenge, I added a few gray and black enamel dots, popped the panel up with foam tape, and I was done!
My next card is for the Happy Little Stampers Monthly Sketch Challenge.
I was inspired by Loll's card and the water color technique she used for the butterfly. In fact, she has a great video tutorial on her blog using re-inkers to create backgrounds or panels for die cuts. I used worn lipstick and scattered straw distress re-inkers, but the colors seem to have blended into orange. So, to add some depth, I blended a little more worn lipstick around the center of the butterfly. I added the 2nd die cut with vellum and topped it off with a few small pearl gems.
My third and final card is for this week's Muse Challenge #99 and Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge #10 - Spots n Dots.
This week's Muse is Vicki Dutcher, and I was so excited to see her card...it's really fabulous, and I just received the SSS Confetti die, so I knew it would be perfect for my card. Photographing foil cardstock and gems can be tricky, so here is a close-up:
So, that's it for me...I hope everyone has a great week ahead ~ Thanks for stopping by!

three fun cards, Barb - especially love the 3rd one with the confetti die - IO has a similar die that I've been wanting, but think this is ever better since it's not so symmetrical - there goes my resolution of no new stuff for awhile ;-(

Congratulations on your 39th anniversary dear Barb! I LOVE your date card! It's so cool!
...and the other 2 cards... so classy and beautifully designed!
Hugs to you for always being so kind and leaving love where ever you go!
First of all, happy belated anniversary, Barb! I hope you and your hubs had a marvelous celebration! I love, love, love your three cards! Great camel flogged technique with the sediment for the first, great additional dimension on the stunning butterfly in the second, and incredible shine and richness on the third!! That "be" looks like expensive sterling silver!! You and your mojo juice rocked them all!! Thank you so much for entering my NBUS Challenge #3 again! Hugs, Darnell
Love the date night card Barb. Happy Anniversary - you must feel proud.
Beautiful cards. In the first fascinated me letters that emerge out of background paper. The second card is decorated with wonderful butterfly, seen from the top layer of beautiful watercoloring, whereas the third is so delicate and elegant, that is receiving speech.
Regards,
Bozena
