Hi there ~
It's time for another fun challenge at Addicted to Stamps, and this time our theme is CAS! I created 2 cards for this challenge...here is the first one:
I wanted to play with some of my new goodies, namely this cute SSS/Mama Elephant 'Skater Kids' stamp set and MFT die 'Cityscape - NYC'. I created a mask with the die, and partially inked it in 2 shades of blue to give it a far away, dreamy effect. The little skater bear was colored with Copics, then die cut and popped up with foam tape.
Here is a close up of the beautiful embossing on this front panel:

My super sweet and generous blog friend, Michele sent me several embossed panels to play with, and I thought this one would be perfect for my birthday card:
I die cut the Lil' Inkers balloons, and to keep it simple, I added vellum strings and a sentiment from Winnie & Walter...and that was it!
Our sponsor for this challenge is Sweet Pea Stamps, and they are awarding the winner with 4 digis from the store!

what a fantastic birthday card - love the colors you chose - and your little skateboard guy is so cute!
Barb I love both these cards but the city scape in the background of the skater is total perfection. Love this look
Two wonderful CAS cards Barb. Especially love that cute skater ... and your cityscape in the background is so perfect. xx
I just love that ciryscape background, what a very cool way to use this die. I will have to try this. Although my dies are all in sections I do have some ciryscape stamps that it might work with. Thanks for the inspiration x
love the cute little bear and the subtle cityscape
Great job with that subtle skyline! Just enough for fabulous interest !
Awesome bold and bright 2nd card too!
Two fab cards Barb. Love the Michele inspired card and the way you used the diecut as a mask in the first. Mind if I try that out? :)
Both cards are super. Love the deep texture behind the balloons. But it's the soft cityscape behind the skater bear that I just love! xx
How cool is your skate boarding bear, he totally made me smile!
Gorgeous cards both...I especially like the first with that smart off set of the skyline.
Totally in love with your subtle cityscape and that super cute scater! Great birthday card, too!

Just so darned adorable, Barb!! You rocked the little skater dude with his big city skyline - wow that is clever - Jules won't be the only one to try that! And look at the perfectly windy day you have created for your birthday balloons! Hang on tight to those strings... well done, my friend!

What a brilliant city skyline background for that cute little skater bear, Barb ... fun, fresh and super-texture-y balloon card ... so celebratory! Hugs, Anita :)
So jealous that you have the little skater critters, I think they are so adorable. Spent two hours at the skatepark today with the kids too! Brilliant CAS design and that far away cityscape is genius. And how fabulous to have some of Michele's embossed panels to play with, she must have a huge collection of folders. Your birthday card is fabulous!
Your little skater, zooming past the city skyline, is utterly adorable! My nephew would love skater images (even though he's only 3 1/2), so this set is heading straight to my wish list! Your balloon card...wonderful! I need to work on mastering balloons...
Hugs~c
I love your cute skater on your first card, and the faint skyline in the background is such a wonderful idea. And, lucky you to get some embossed backgrounds from Michele--I'll bet her embossing stash would fill a room. Perfect backdrop for your cheery balloons.
