Muse Card Challenge #133

Hey there, crafty friends ~ The incredibly talented Michele Ferguson has provided inspiration for this week's challenge at Muse! Here is her beautiful card:

Don't you just love that gorgeous patterned paper? And, paired with the butterfly...Swoon!!! Well, unfortunately I don't have a variety of floral patterned papers, so in the end I decided to create my own using a stencil. Here is my card:

So, I used the Hero Arts Large Lotus Stencil pattern for the background, Brusho water colors for the solid butterfly, vellum for the detailed front of the butterfly, and gold foil cardstock for the die cut sentiment. I added a few pearl gems and mounted the panel on to a turquoise card base...and that was it! I must admit that I tried to create my own pattern using my floral stamps, which was an epic fail...then tried using some pretty striped papers from PTI, but that was thrown in the bin, too! Does that happen to you, too?

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I really appreciate it...and of course, your lovely comments! Have a great weekend,

that is so neat that you made your own background and is a gorgeous background for the butterfly - and the gold is the perfect accent!!

Hello Barb and thank you so much for your sweet comment on my Paper Napkin card for Muse. Your card is just beautiful, I love the stencil you used, it's design is lovely. I don't have any stencils, sheeesh!! so I think I need to get me some.
I love your butterfly, is it Vellum on the underside? looks amazing.
Thank you again for your kind words, I hope you visit me again. I'm very new at blogging, I just started last December and I still have a lot to learn but, I love making cards, water coloring and participating in all of this challenges.
One of the things I need to learn is how to have my winning badges on my blog page, I've won a couple of challenges and I've been Honorable Mention on a few more. I won the guest designer spot on Merry Monday for the next challenge on September 21st. so I hope you stop by and participate.
Thank you again.
Hugs from Crown Point, Indiana.

Hi Barb!!! Oh I have been looking for you in the gallery, and so very happy to see this gorgeous card! I LOve the Lotus stencil and the colors you've used. Of course I recognize that darling 'flutter-by' beautifully cut from a slip of vellum - my fave. Thanks so much for playing cards with me here at Muse ... by the way - I'd love to see those that didn't make it to the gallery - email photos?

Love this colour palette, Barb ... such beautiful stencilling ... and what a gorgeous, delicate layered butterfly! Had a smile at your description of how your card came together ... you and me both have a seriously limited supply of DP ... probably the only card makers on the planet that do!! Still trying to figure my card out! Hugs, Anita :)

I empathize with you on the feeding of the recycle bin, Barb. Seems to happen a lot lately. Come to my house some day. You can have all the patterned paper you want. Not that you need it. Your final card is stunning.

Oh goodness. This is so much better than any patterned paper I have ever seen. How gorgeous! I think I have this stencil and it has never seen the light of day. Brilliant idea to stencil your background, and your butterfly is so very pretty.
