Hi there blog friends ~
It's time for another fun challenge at Addicted to CAS. My dear friend, Deepti, is our Hostess this time, and she has chosen the Code Word 'Stripes'! Our Guest Designer for this challenge is the fabulous Julia Alermann, and she has not only created a really cute card, she has included a video tutorial for us ~ Also, our Sponsor for this challenge is Happy Little Stampers, and Kylie is offering a $15.00 Gift Card to her online shop for the winner!
Happy Little Stampers was created in 2015 by Kylie (owner of ATSM and ATCAS). Kylie wanted to bring out a line of stamps that were useful for every day crafters. From cute to whimsical images, from everyday to funky sentiments there is something for everyone!
We would love to have you stop by and play along with us!
OK...here is my card:
I can't believe my daughter is turning 40 this year, but it's true! So, this will be one of the cards I'll be sending to her (she lives in Florida, and we are in NJ)...I used several inks and post-it tape to create the diagonal stripes on the PTI numbers after watching This Video by Jennifer McGuire. I die cut 'Happy' from Winnie & Walter, and used the negative portion of that for my design. No stamping, but I love a lot of white space with a pop of color, so this card does the trick :)
So, that's it for me...don't forget to stop by the ATCAS Challenge Blog to see what Julia and my wonderful teamies have created for this week's challenge, and be sure to check out Julia's video Here ~

when i saw your card with all the rest for this challenge, my first thought was that yours was the most creative use of stripes - love how colorful the numbers are against the die cut background - my daughter's birthday is next week - may just CASE your card!!
Such a pretty card !!! Love it a lot 😊💟
Well this is most definitely going in the CASE file, Barb!!! What a fantastic card - love the negative die-cut base! Holy moley I cannot believe what a great striped paper you've colored using post-it notes - you'd never need to buy it, that's for sure!!!
Cheers to your daughter! xx

A masterpiece, Barb--LOVE this card & I know your daughter will, too!
I live the design I'd this card! The splash of color is just striking!
Barb, that white on white background is fabulous and smart too. I've done it the other way around using the cuts...but this leaves the cuts for another project. You are Brilliant! If it were my 40th I would be loving that card.
I was looking for the stripes... doh! What a clever and fun idea Barb, I just know your daughter will adore it!
Hi Barb - Brilliant card, it has really given me the jump start to create a card today :-)
Your daughter will love it -I'm sure of that! Birthday Wishes to her!
I must say though, I'm very surprised you have a 40 year old daughter (insert shocked face here)!
This is so clever and stunning, those colorful stripes look beautiful, ur daughter will love this :)
Love, love, LOVE, Barb ... all that yummy, crisp, die cut white ... the gorgeous splash of colour in the numbers ... those delicious stripes ... yep, LOVE it! I'm certain your daughter will too! It's so Pinned! Hugs, Anita :)
Whoa-- you *inked* the 40 stripes? That's a whole lotta love! I'd say the outcome was worth what must have taken some patience!
Brilliant design Barb. Your daughter is going to love this card. Great job with masking and sponging the 40 ... looks amazing against the all white background. xx
What a fun design. I'm pinning this one. I think that your rainbow '40' will take the sting out of turning 40!
Loved how you used the negative die cutes to create the background of your card, thats new to me! I must try it now! And such patience to create the striped numbers from scratch, bravo! Beautiful card.
I'm always looking for a way to use a number on a card and I just found a great one. Thanks, Barb, for the inspiration. That made-your-own-stripes number really pops off the all white-with-texture background.
Oh wow!! First, I LOVE that background!! And your amazing use of stripes on the 40. I cannot believe you have a 40 year old daughter. I thought that you were around that age from your photo!! LOVE it!!
Definitely an ingenious, creative use of stripes..that 40 is soooo striking! Your daughter will love this, as do I! I remember being 40...some 16 years ago *grin*
Hugs~c
This is a stunning card Barb. Love the Happy in the background - white on white is my favourite. Of course then the 40 sure pops with those stripes! x Carolyn
Barb I loved this card.. very clever take on stripes word.
Wow! Masked stripes! I thought you used a striped paper, amazing! - Sweet Kobylkin
