You're So Deer To Me

Hi there, blog friends! I have three cards to share, so let's get started ~

My first card is for the current SSS challenge on Flickr for the theme 'Anything Goes'.

They say, 'The apple doesn't fall far from the tree', and that is so true! Kay Miller is my dear blog friend, and her daughter Kaylea designed this darling SSS stamp set called ‘So Deer’...and by the way, she is 14 years old!!! I am completely smitten with this stamp set, and I couldn't wait to ink it up!
I started by stamping the deer and creating masks so I could add the clouds, flowers and grass. I colored everything with Copics and added a touch of WOS to the butterfly and flowers...and that was it :)

****************************

For my 2nd card, I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches and the theme from CASology (Season) and Addicted to Stamps & More (CAS).

I'm really looking forward to summer, so it was a no-brainer for the CASology challenge and the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches worked perfectly. I used a circle die to create a stencil for the sunburst and added light blue shading behind the penguin, who was colored with Copics. A CAS design, so it worked out great for ATSM as well...and there you have it!

*****************************

My last card is for this week's Muse Challenge and our Muse is Kay Miller! Here is Kay's card:

Isn't it gorgeous?! Here is my take on her card:

I used Kay's layout, but instead of stamping, I embossed my MFT NYC die on pale gray cardstock and added the roses die. I love the font on this WPlus9 stamp set (same as Kay), so I chose this sentiment...and, that was it for today!

Have a great week ahead ~
Thanks so much for stopping by,

Oh, goodness. Love all three of these cards. Your 1st and 2nd are so very adorable. You do cute and critters so incredibly well. And, wow on your 3rd card. So sophisticated and elegant. I love the skyline texture. Brilliant idea, and now I need to take a look at that die--am wondering why I don't already own it. Thanks so much for playing along at CASology this week.

Your muse card is a wonderful take on Kay's lovely card. I like that subtle embossing. Your penguin in the rays is just darling. The circle effect is perfect. Those sweet deer are awesome...and how wonderful to have that personal connection to the illustrator. You did her proud I am sure.

Your cards are all so wonderful, Barb. That darling little deer scene is so soft and pretty and the penguin looks like he's ready for summer. Great idea to make your own ray stencil. The roses on the embossed background are elegant and ready for a wedding.
