Addicted to CAS - Challenge #121

Hi there, blog friends ~ It's time for another challenge at Addicted to CAS! Ellenor is our Hostess, and she has chosen the code word...'Favorite Stamp'! Suffice it to say I have a few faves, so I had to narrow it down and decided on this stamp set:

What I like about this stamp set is that it has several elegant sentiments and the flowers are so pretty! I created the ombre effect with PTI inks (See This Video tutorial by Laurie Willison) and embossed the center of the blooms in gold.

Happy Little Stampers is sponsoring this challenge, and Kylie is offering a $15.00 GC for the winner...surely you have a least one fave in your stash, right? We would love to see your creation in the ATCAS gallery if you're interested in joining us!

Supplies:
Stamps: Papertrey Ink - Graceful Greetings
Ink: PTI - Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, Tropical Teal; MFT - Ripe Raspberry; Hero Arts - Bubblegum, Green Hills; Versamark
Misc: WOW Metallic Gold EP; Lucie's Things Jewels

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #306

Hi ~ I'm back again with a card I created for this week's challenge at Freshly Made Sketches Challenge. This fabulous sketch was created by Jen M.

Here is my take on Jen's sketch:

I was way out of my comfort zone working with all those layers and since I rarely use patterned paper on my cards, this was a real challenge for me...but it was fun :)
Everything on this card is by MFT and I colored the images with Copic markers.

Wishing you all a great week ahead ~ Thanks so much for stopping by and for your sweet comments...I really appreciate it!

CASology Challenge #267

Hello again ~ I'm back to share a card I created for this week's challenge at CASology. The cue card 'Big' is so much fun because there are so many ways to go with it! I've never been to Paris, but I'm willing to bet the Eiffel Tower is 'Big' and that it would give me a chance to play with my new to me die!

I was determined to keep it CAS so I created a mask with the oval shadow die and sponged it with MFT Grout Gray ink. I used Salty Ocean DI on the tower, lightening the color as I moved upward, and stamped the sentiment in SSS Smoke. A few gems for sparkle and a stitched border and this card was complete :)

This morning, the following video showed up on my YouTube feed and it really made my day...so, I thought I would share it with you ~ Enjoy!

Have a great weekend! Thanks so much for stopping by,

Supplies:
Stamps: PTI - Think Big Favorites #3
Dies: MFT - Eiffel Tower, Oval Shadow Die, Blueprints 25

You Make Me Smile

Hi there blog friends,
I've been on the fence about entering the MFT Card Design Superstar Contest, so just before they close their doors, I've decided to submit this card for the CAS category:

This little guy is my favorite from the new Bitty Bears stamp set, and I thought (hoped, really) that he would work in place of the letter "O" in the die cut. I used the paisley stencil for the background and blended distress inks to create an ombre effect on the alphas.

Supplies: (All MFT products)
Stamps: Bitty Bears, All About You
Dies: Bitty Bears, All About You, Fishtail Sentiment Strip, Blueprints 25
Stencil: Bold Paisley
Inks: MFT - Black Hybrid; DI's - Carved Pumpkin, Mustard Seed; Hero Arts - Soft Vanilla; Versamark
Embossing Powder: Stampendous Detail White
Gems: Lucy's Cards - Clear Jewels

Thanks so much for stopping by,

CAS on Friday, Muse Challenge

Hello again ~
I'm back to share 2 cards...First up is the challenge at CAS on Friday for the theme CAS on Friday: Challenge #116 Color me Pretty (use Pencils or Markers)

I just bought this stamp set and thought the tri-square windows would work well. The backgrounds were blended with DI's and images were colored with Copic markers.

********************************

My 2nd card is for this week's challenge at Muse. Tracey McNeely is our Muse this week and she created this fabulous contemporary Christmas card:

And, here is my take on her card:

I used my favorite wreath die and kept it simple by adding just 2 sprigs of holly (watercolored) and a few gems. CAS with an elegant sentiment and that was it!

Supplies:
Stamps: MFT - Witch Way is the Candy, Hero Arts - Merry Christmas Trees (sentiment)
Dies: MFT - Witch Way is the Candy, SSS - Chisholm Wreath, Tri Square Window, Reverse Confetti - Holly
Distress Inks, Copic Markers, Gems (stash)

Have a great week ~ Thanks so much for stopping by,

Addicted to CAS Challenge #120

Hi there blog friends ~
It's time for another challenge at Addicted to CAS! Our Hostess for this challenge is Jaydee and she has chosen the code word for us:

Here is my card...

For my first card, I stamped and die cut my newest MFT set (Beautiful Blooms) and die cut the scalloped border with Lawn Fawn plaid papers. Lastly, I used Doodlebug Sprinkles for the center of the flowers.

I created a 2nd card, just because...

I stamped a panel using Lawn Fawn's Penelopes Blossoms then die cut the sentiment several times and stacked them to add dimension to my card. A few clear sequins and a stitched panel, and that was it ~

STAMPlorations is our sponsor and they are offering a $10 voucher to the store for the winner...we would love to have you join us!
Thanks so much for stopping by,

To answer Paperpretties question: To create the scalloped border on the first card, I used this MFT DIE (last one in the photo). Hope this helps!

CAS Watercolor September Challenge

Hi there ~
I'm back to share a card I created for this month's challenge at CAS Watercolor, and the theme is 'Silhouette'!

Instead of using a stamp for this challenge, I opened my Silhouette Studio software and found this image in my library from a few years ago (it's called 'Beauty Silhouette' #5292). I started with Peerless Watercolors on the textured side of Tim Holtz watercolor cardstock and I embossed the PTI sentiment in gold. A stitched oval and rectangle border with a few gold sequins and this card was completed!
Thanks to Bonnie for suggesting that I can enter this card is this month's challenge at CAS Mix Up :)

To fulfill the criteria for this challenge, I created the watercolor wash on the oval panel and stamped the sentiment. My 'choice' is one of my favorite techniques ~ die cutting.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend, and if you live in or near Florida, please stay safe! My daughter and granddaughter live on the east coast of Florida and I'm trying not to panic ~ So far, so good!

Thanks so much for stopping by,

Addicted to CAS Challenge #119

Hi there blog friends ~ It's time for a new challenge at Addicted to CAS and Doni has chosen our Code Word:

As summer comes to a close, I start thinking about all the wonderful fruits and veggies I enjoy during autumn and apples are at the top of my list ~

I wasn't sure if I liked this card after I added glossy accents to the apples, so I created a new one, and this time I used a lighter red ink and Shimmer Spritz ~

Maybe it's the screen on my pc, because, in person, the shimmer spritz is very pretty :)

A few weeks ago, the winner of our challenge, Sweet Kobylkin (Ksenija), created three really cute cards using this partial die cutting technique on the border of her cards. As soon as I emailed her about being our Guest Designer, I asked if I could CASE her fun design...she said yes, and here we are :)

This is how I created this card:
- I started by drawing a pencil line where the fold would be. (I did not fold the card yet).
- I lined up the apple die (beginning in the center working outward) and partially die cut each one.
- I erased the pencil line and stamped the apples and stems.
- Lastly, I placed the card on my score board and scored in between each apple, folded the card, and added glossy accents to each one.
***The card is now 5" tall by 5 1/2 wide, so I created my own envelope.

My teamies have created some really fabulous cards for this challenge and we would love to have you join us! Create a Smile is our Sponsor and they are offering a gift card for 15 Euros to the winner of this challenge!
Ingredients:
Stamps: PTI: Fruit Fusion; Reverse Confetti: Sentiment
Dies: Reverse Confetti - Sentiment
Inks: Versamark; MFT - Cherry Crisp; SSS - Hot Lips; Catherine Pooler - Grass Skirt
Misc:  Hero Arts - Silver EP; Lucy Cards - Sequins; MFT - Silver Foil C/S; Glossy Accents; Shimmer Spritz

Hugs and Boo to You!

Hi there blog friends! I'm back to share 2 cards I created for this week's challenges at CASology and Muse ~

First up...my dear friend, Cat Craig is Guest Designer this week at Muse and she has created this beautiful card to inspire us:

And, my take:

I used a NBUS from PTI called Humming Along for my blooms and hummingbird and a die cut sentiment from SSS.

I focused on Cat's:
- Color Palette
- Layout
- Floral theme
- Black script sentiment

*****************************

My 2nd card is for CASology and the cue card this week is 'Square' ~

I love this PTI ghost from Spooky Smiles, (illustrated by my friend Kay Miller). I colored him with Copics and attached him to the PTI die cut Four Square. This card is 5x5 so I'll make a custom envie for it :)

So, that's it for me! I hope everyone has a really safe and fun Labor Day Weekend ~
