CAS Christmas - March Challenge & MFT Sketch Challenge #374

Hi there blog friends,
I'm back to share 2 cards I created over the weekend...Have you heard? Loll and Bonnie have a brand new challenge...CAS Christmas! No more excuses for me to feel overwhelmed in December, frantically creating 20 or 30 more Christmas cards :)

The theme for March is 'Holly'. I have a serious collection of holly stamps and dies, so I'll be entering again next week :). I rarely use patterned papers on my cards, but I have a pack of PTI gold foil papers and thought the stripes would work well here. I stamped the holly and berries and although it's not noticeable on screen, I added glossy accents to the berries for shine. A gold embossed sentiment and a few gold sequins, and that was it...a CAS Christmas card!

My 2nd card is for this week's Sketch Challenge at MFT:

I was eager to ink up this cute stamp...I colored her with Copic markers, created the background with stencils, then mounted the frame on stone gray cardstock.

Thanks so much for stopping by and for leaving such sweet comments...I read them all, and appreciate them very much! Have a great week!

Barb, I've been trying not to collect anymore DP but the gold strips are gorgeous. I love your layout cut on the slight diagonal with your holly as the focal point. So looking forward to seeing your next entry. Thanks for joining us at CAS Christmas.

Those gold stripes are stunning with just a touch of holly on the side, Barb. I've seen a lot of people using that PTI set and I'm thinking I should add it to my wish list. The little girl is darling and looks just like my great granddaughter. I love the softly stenciled background.

Very crisp and modern-looking holly card, Barb! I love that you added movement to the card by using a tilted line. The gold stripes, gold heat-embossed sentiment, the gold sequins and the pretty holly with shiny berries - such a perfect Christmas card! Thank you for sharing it at CAS Christmas!
And the totally different soft & sweet 2nd card! The girl and kitty are so adorable. Pretty light copic coloring and stenciling. Love the little paw on the sentiment strip. It's a nice touch! Hideko
