Twofer Card Challenge #9 - Leaves

Hi there ~ I always enjoy playing along with Darnell's Twofer Challenge, and as soon as I saw the September prompt, I ransacked my stash for my leaves...I decided to use a die from the MFT Fab Foliage set.
The rules are: We can interpret the prompt however it inspires us, but we must use the same leaf or leaves stamp or die on both cards for two different occasions ~

Here is my first card ~

I started by embossing the top panel with PTI Linen/Canvas Impression Plate, die cut the border, then the rose and leaves using PTI felt. I added a sentiment, a large pearl, and a few gems, and that was it!

For my 2nd card, I decided to create a wreath with the leaves ~

For this card, I die cut the leaves with Bristol cardstock, then sponged them with distress inks. I also spritzed the leaves with Shimmer Spray, then embossed the sentiment and added a few red gems from my stash. Here is a close-up of the sparkly leaves:

So pretty in person...

And, here is a photo of both cards for the Twofer Challenge Blog

Darnell and her team have provided lots of beautiful inspiration on the Challenge Blog, so be sure to check it out...I also have a badge on my sidebar with the rules of the challenge, if you would like to play along!

Have a great weekend, everyone...Thanks so much for stopping by,

Thank you, as always, for your enthusiasm and support, Barb! I love seeing how you will make the prompt image come alive in your CAS designs and you wowed me again! Both of these cards are so sweet and lovely! Your rose and leaves design in felt with that perfect pearl is going to make someone very happy! And I'm blown away by the gorgeous wreath you created with your leaves for your Christmas card! The gold-embossed JOY is stunning in the center of your shimmery wreath and jewel berries!! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #9! Hugs, Darnell

Barb, Love that sweet rose card with the leaves and the angled cut. Such a lovely CAS design. Your wreath is spectacular as well. Fabulous examples of a Twofer.

Two gorgeous CAS cards! The felt rose with the leaves and all that white space is so pretty and the wreath you made out of the leaves is just lovely with the gold embossed sentiment and the red gems!
Great to see you in the Twofer gallery!

Such a different look using the same die cut and they are both amazing. I especially adore that sweet flower... I have a die (that I just had to have) to make something similar and guess what I never got round to it (I'm a bad girl, but maybe after your inspiration I may just use it)!

Gorgeous cards Barb!! LOVE your first card with the leaves and rose cut from felt. I just want to reach out and touch the card! Beautiful design with the subtle embossed background and diagonal split. Your second card is such a pretty wreath. Sponging the leaves and then spraying with shimmer gives them a watercoloured look. So pretty with the embossed sentiment and sparkly red berries. Two fantastic designs, my friend! Thanks for play along with us at Twofer Card Challenge. Would love you to enter your wreath card at CAS Christmas if you have time! xx

You'd hardly know they were the same leaf, Barb. The soft green with the rose is lovely and the brighter colored ones make a wonderful wreath.

I wouldn't have know you used the same leaves, Barb! What a creative idea to make your wreath from these little sprigs! They are so pretty backing the gorgeous flower and stunning as a beautifully colored wreath! The shading of the light greens is such a wonderful contrast with the red berries!

BTW, CAS Christmas is doing wreaths this month.

What a beauty of a twofer, Barb ... both are an absolute delight! Gorgeous, shimmery, softly shaded wreath ... so fresh and festive with the red berries and the rich gold sentiment! That single dimensional bloom is just beautiful with the delicate leaves framing it ... elegant, texture-y and stunning against all that yummy white! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Twofer! Hugs, Anita :)
