Fusion Card Challenge - Rainbow Cupcake

Inspiration Photo/Sketch

Hi there blog friends ~ It's time for a new challenge at Fusion and this time our prompt is Rainbow Cupcake.

As you can see, I stepped WAY out of my comfort zone creating this card, but I really like the sketch, and wanted to go with that.

Pink and gray is my all-time favorite color combo, so I decided to use it as opposed to the color palette on the inspiration photo. I started by stamping the polka dot background and used felt to die cut the bloom. I also thought it would be fun to use the Mod Rectangle die for the focal point on this card...and that was it ~

Don't forget the best thing about the Fusion Card Challenge is that you can choose between the sketch and the inspiration photo, or both! My teamies have created some beautiful cards to inspire you, so feel free to stop by the challenge blog and play along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by,

CAS Stencil Challenge Reminder

Hi there, blog friends! I'm back with a reminder...There's still time to play along at the CAS Stencil Challenge...This time I created a custom sized card for a special friend.

I used my new Blender Brushes to create a soft blue background and black Brushos for this stencil because I love the bits of color that appeared when I sprayed it with water. I also used Loll's technique again and chose the 2nd panel for my design.

Don't forget there are several video tutorials listed on the challenge blog and lots of inspiration from the team! This challenge closes on the 24th, so if you have the time, grab your stencils and powdered inks and join us...we would love to see what you come up with for this technique!

Thanks so much for stopping by,

Addicted to CAS Challenge #153 - Grid

Hi there, blog friends! Today starts a new challenge at Addicted to CAS . Our Hostess is Bobby and she is challenging everyone to create a card using the Code Word ‘Grid’.
Our Guest Designer is Elizabeth Stewart  (winner of challenge #151).

For this code word, I thought my diagonal grid stencil would work well with the large alphas and camouflage technique. Of course, I couldn't resist this sweet bird, and once I added the sentiment, this card was finished!

We would love to see how the code word ‘Grid’ inspires you! If you would like to see inspiration from the Design Team and play along with us, visit the ATCAS Blog HERE  ~

Thanks so much for stopping by,

You're Awesome

Hi there ~ I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day! When I saw the cue card for this week's challenge at CASology, I had to grab one of my favorite new stencils and play along ~

I started by masking the surfer and surfboard then stenciled the waves with  Mermaid Lagoon DI and a coat of shimmer spray for some sparkle. I wanted to keep the card monochromatic, so I sponged the surfer and surfboard with Tumbled Glass DI and added clear embossing powder to the sentiment. And, that was it for this one-layer wonder :)

Thanks so much for stopping by,

Stamps: Altenew - Dainty Swiss Dots (sentiment)
Stencil: Funky Fossil Designs - Surfer (Sarah Gray's Folksy Store)
Inks: Tim Holtz - Distress Inks; Versafine - Onyx Black

Twofer Card Challenge #13

Hi there blog friends! I am truly honored to share the cards I created as Guest Designer for the February Twofer Card Challenge ~ I was so excited when Darnell shared the February prompt with me, as I have a new stamp set with lots of fabulous stars...

Here is my first card:

I started by inking the background with distress inks and added a few extra stars and splatters. I then stamped the swirly star's image and sentiment and spritzed the entire panel with Shimmer Spray.

And, here is my Twofer:

For this card, I wanted my gold fairy to 'reach for the stars'...I added the gold embossed sentiment and placed everything on the stenciled cloud background.

I know Darnell would be thrilled if you played along and if you do, remember the special rules for the challenge:

Here is the photo I am posting to Darnell's Challenge Blog:

My dear friend Cat Craig is Co-Guesting with me, and as always, she has created two fabulous cards for the challenge! We hope to see you there ~

Fusion Card Challenge - Tea & Bouquet

Hi there blog friends ~ It's time for a new challenge at Fusion and this time our prompt is Tea & Bouquet.  I thought it would be fun to combine the layout from the sketch with the color palette on the inspiration photo...and this is what I came up with ~

I love a CAS design, so I embossed the Stitched Arch and blended Distress Inks for the pattern on the teacup. I created a stencil with the steam shape die and added a touch of clear glitter marker to it for some sparkle. A scripty sentiment and another stitched border, and this card was ready to mount on a hot pink base!

Don't forget the best thing about the Fusion Card Challenge is that you can choose between the sketch and the inspiration photo, or both! As always, my teamies have created some beautiful cards to inspire you, so feel free to stop by the challenge blog and play along with us!

CAS Stencil February Challenge

Hi there ~
It's time for the next challenge at CAS Stencil and our Hostess, Nancy, has chosen powdered inks for our stenciling technique! I chose to play with my Brushos to create this card:

Using powdered inks with stencils can be tricky, so I referred to one of Loll's video tutorials for my background. I started by ink blending in light blue, then I placed the waves stencil and added Brushos and water. The fish was colored with Copics and I added a coat of Glossy Accents to the heart and a few dots to mimic bubbles.

If you would like to play along with us and have never used powdered inks with stencils, there are links to several video tutorials on the challenge blog to guide you :) Of course, my teammates have also created some beautiful cards to inspire you...Hope to see you there!

Our Guest Designer is Sandie Munro  (winner of challenge #150) and she has created a beautiful CAS card to inspire everyone.

I have several bird stamps and dies in my stash so it was hard to choose, but I finally decided on this little guy:

I started by sponging the stencil then coloring the Toucan with Copic markers. I added a wonky stitched circle die cut in vellum and googly eyes (with eyelashes!).
