CASology Challenge #336 - Ocean

Hi there ~ I'm back with a card for the current challenge at CASology...LOVE this cue card!

I started by creating a mask with an oval die, then blended 3 Distress Inks, and stenciled the upper portion of the oval shape. I then used one of my mermaid dies for my focal point and added a small white pearl as an accent. And, that was it!

Thanks so much for stopping by,

Supplies:
Stamps: Clearly Besotted - Accent It (sentiment)
Dies: Impression Obsession - Mermaid; MFT - Cross Stitched Oval STAX
Stencil: Honey Bee Stamps - Ocean Scene Builder
Inks: Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean, Tumbled Glass; MFT - Sweet Tooth; Gina K. - Jet Black Amalgam
Misc: Stampin' Up - Pearl Gem; Picket Fence Life Changing Brushes

Love this Barb, the stenciling on the top of your oval really makes it look like water.

Gorgeous! Love the touch of reflection at the top and the gentle gradient to the ocean. That silhouette has me singing mermaid songs now :) Thanks for joining us at CASology!

Fantastic, Barb ... the single pearl is such a wonderful idea for this elegant mermaid to be reaching for ... and the sunlight glinting through the water is brilliant! A magical scene! Hugs, Anita :)

Oh this is so pretty. I love that bit of shimmer at the top and that there is a pearl floating just out of your mermaid's grasp.

Simple but so classy! I love how the mermaid is reaching for the pearl and the breaking waves on the surface of the "water"!

This is so beautifully designed and executed. Love how you have done the coloring of the oval, with that stenciling at the top--looks just like a reflection or a wave. And, that sweet pearl that the mermaid is aspiring to reach--goes perfectly with the sentiment. Thanks so much for playing along at CASology this week.

CAS perfection, Barb! Sweet design for the Ocean challenge. Love that you've added a little stenciling at the top. I think about using stencils a lot more than I used to now that we have the challenge :) xx
