A quick reminder that we have a really fun technique to use on your cards at the CAS Stencil Challenge...Alcohol Inks/Lift.
I started by adding several colors of alcohol inks to a panel of Yupo Silver Sparkle Paper. While that dried, I die cut the butterfly, then created my own stencil with the flourish die and a piece of acetate. The alcohol lift ink didn't work very well to remove the ink from the panel, so I tried a Copic Colorless Blender Pen and traced the flourish...it worked like a charm! Lastly, I added a few clear gems and embossed the sentiment with silver EP. And that was it :)
I hope you'll check out the CAS Stencil Challenge ~ Our Guest Designer is Janet (Swanlady Impressions), our Hostess Cathy has provided links to several great videos, and my teamies have created some amazing cards to inspire you!
Thanks so much for stopping by,

Gorgeous mix of colours for your beautiful AI background, Barb! I love the pretty layered butterfly --- so delicate! Great work with creating your own stencil for the flourish (butterfly trail). Never thought about using a colorless blender, but just goes to show crafters are ingenious about using other products in a whole new way! Beautiful card Barb!! xx
What a great idea to use the Copic to lift the color! That's why we have so many supplies - right? so when one thing doesn't work we have something else to try! What a beautiful shimmery background for your lovely butterfly and lifted flight swirl! Great mix of colors! xx
We're learning that there's more than one way to lift alcohol ink. It was a great idea to use the colorless blender to get that flourish to show beautifully! So perfect with that butterfly!
OMG Barb, I love the shimmer of the alcohols and the lift is beautiful :)

Barb, I recently had a second try with my alcohol inks - once again I'm wishing you lived next door, as you seem to know exactly how to make these pearls shine!

Wow, what a gorgeous blend of alcohol inks, Barb! I love the shine from the silver sparkle paper! And the lifted flourish, stenciled with your homemade stencil looks so clean and crisp (even though the lines are pretty thin!). Using a Copic Colorless Blender Pen is a clever idea.
The vellum butterfly and the gems add elegance to the card.
Hideko xx
