Hi there blog friends ~ It’s time for our April challenge at CAS Stencil. Our Guest Designer is the super talented ‘Mac’ (The Sweetest of Peas) and our Hostess for this challenge is Cathy, who chose ‘Gilding Flakes’ for our prompt :)
This is the first time I played with Gilding Flakes...so, I checked out a few videos (posted on the challenge blog) and got busy creating my card. With my brand new Funky Fossil Designs stencil, I blended distress ink to the face and neck. Then I smeared gel medium on to the tie and hat and set it aside to dry. A few hours later, I added the flakes...I have to say I really love the results! It’s shiny like embossing powder but with lots of texture. Lastly, I embossed the sentiment with copper EP and placed the panel to an A2 sized piece of copper foil cardstock and the card base.
I hope you'll grab your stencils and come join us at the CAS Stencil Challenge Blog for this unique challenge! Our GD Mac and my teamies have created some beautiful cards to inspire you...and don’t forget we always have links to a few video tutorials showcasing the technique for each challenge. The challenge closes on the 24th...I hope to see you there ~
Thanks so much for stopping by,

You brought me right back to the '50's Barb! My dad could always be seen with a Fedora - though not quite as 'snazzy' as this one!

I am just returning to the paper crafting world and was delighted when Mac visited my first “new” post. Been a fan and follower of hers for a long time. Anyway followed from her page to CAS stencil, scroll g down the DT work yours literally stopped me in my tracks. It just so happens that yesterday I played with gilding flakes and a stencil. Not a CAS piece but you have inspired me to play again tomorrow, thank you.
