Fusion Challenge - Pink Phone

Hi there crafty friends! I'm back to share my card for the latest Fusion Challenge and I'm tickled pink with the inspiration photo :) I was goiing to use a brand new floral stamp set, then suddenly remembered that I had this set, which is also new:

I love chatting with my 11 year old granddaughter by phone so I thought this would be a fun card to send to her...of course she has a fancy cell phone whereas (don't laugh) my very first phone was a pink princess phone and I thought it was so cool!

After I colored my little girl with Copics, I stenciled the background and created a stencil with my oval shadow dies to ground the images. I thought the stitched scalloped border added a feminine touch and the silver foil heart mimicked the mirrored images on the telephone in the inspiration photo. I also added a tiny clear confetti gem to the center of the phone.

The challenge lasts 2 weeks, so there is plenty of time to join us at the Fusion Blog ~
Thanks so much for stopping by,

Supplies
Stamps: MFT - A Phone Call Away
Dies: MFT - A Phone Call Away, Oval Shadows; Mama Elephant - Confetti; Mama Elephant - Femme Frames
Stencil: MFT - English Brick Wall

Oh those early teen aged years and the telephone. Things haven't changed all that much. I was obsessed with the phone as a teenager...it just wasn't mobile.

Love this sweet images, and those faint bricks behind your lil gal are a fabulous anchoring point.

Oh I only wished I could have a pink princess phone... or ANY phone at all that came with a little bit of privacy... ie party lines, and 8 siblings, for gosh sakes!
I love your little chatty girl... and you took the words right out of my heart, Barb... xx

I wouldn't laugh about your pink princess phone, Barb ~ I would be jealous! The first phone I remember is a CRANK phone with an operator on the other end! Yes, that's right, I lived in 1892, lol! Your card is utterly adorable and perfect for the prompt!! Hugs, Darnell

How I wouldn't love to have the perfect stamp for this challenge. You certainly did, Barb. This is so cute and beautifully colored. The background stenciling is so subtle but adds so much to the card.

I'm of the generation where I can appreciate a phone like that! Your granddaughter must think it is so strange to see that phones used to have a cord connecting the hand piece to the phone. And now that I think about it she probably thinks it's strange that the handpiece and the phone are two separate things. How times have changed! It's beautiful card and I'm sure she'll love it! And I love the subtle brick texture behind the girl on the phone - and your coloring is fabulous!
