Happy Holidays

Hi there, blog friends! It’s time for the May challenge at CAS Christmas. Our Hostess is Christine and she has chosen ‘Foliage & Berries’ for our prompt. Our Guest Designer is Robyn.

I've been shopping at The Greetery lately and I thought this branch and berries die was perfect for our prompt. I used distress inks to watercolor the branch then sprayed it with sheer shimmer spritz and left the outline white. I die-cut the bow (also The Greetery) with white glitter cardstock and used gold embossing powder for the sentiment. Here is a close-up of all the sparkle on the branch.

***************************

I wasn't 100% happy with my card...it just doesn't feel CAS enough. So, I pulled out a stencil, which was a gift from Loll, and I got busy ~

Thanks, Loll! I should have reached for this stencil, to begin with :)
I used distress inks to color the holly, berries and stems then placed a layer of Nuvo Glimmer Paste over the top. I then used gold foil cardstock for the die-cut sentiment and gold embossing powder for the stamped sentiment.

We hope you’ll stop by the Challenge Blog and check out all the beautiful Christmas cards by our DT and Guest Designer...The challenge ends on the 24th, so you have plenty of time to play along with us...It’s a great way to add some beautiful cards to your Christmas card stash! I hope to see you there ~

Thanks so much for stopping by,

You CAS girls know best about what CAS means to the challenge, but Barb, both of your cards are perfectly wonderful to me!
LOve that die, so beautifully water colored. And using that glimmer paste over top of the red and green ink was a gorgeous way to add Christmas sparkle to your second stenciled card!

Both cards are fantastic, Barb! The branches were colored so beautifully and I love the shine of the berries! I can imagine the pretty shimmer.
The sparkle from the stenciled berry branch is so pretty. The combination of the gold foil die-cut sentiment and the sentiment strip adds dimension and interest to the stenciled front panel. Love both cards!

They both look CAS to me too Barb and both are absolutely BEAUTIFUL too! I've always used that berry sprig from The Greetery just plain white, but it looks so pretty colored up with the green and red!! Your stenciled sprig is gorgeous with all that sparkle...I'm loving both of them Barb!! :0)

Your second card is so pretty with the bright red and green with the shimmer from the embossing paste. Two CAS beauties, Barb! xx
